I suppose I'll be labeled for saying I 'loved' the original film (just a senseless bunch of violent killing, so what's to like unless you're a psychopath, right?) but I really did enjoy the original. This one was more "preachy" and seemed to have more reasoning behind the killing, so it took that psychotic-rampage edge off that, IMO, made the original so interesting. Much of what was espoused here might have had a slight ring of truth to it (heck, some of it may have been factually precise, for all I know) but at this point of my life, I'm one of those lost in the Matrix and I don't care to wake up. I'm lower middle class, always have been, and will be until the middle class succumbs to being the poverty-stricken (we're close but not there yet), and I've learned to accept it. Does it irk me that the societal elite "rule the world"? Of course...but what is there to be done about it? It's been that way since the dawn of time: the haves vs the have-nots. I'm a "have-not". Whatever... I still enjoyed the movie in spite of the "too close to home" ring of truth woven throughout; you just have to, every once in awhile, disengage your brain and enjoy the mayhem. Let someone else act it out for you so you don't go doing something stupid, only to discover that villains don't actually get away in real life. Watch this only if you're like me and want to finish the trilogy; apart from that one reason, though, this one was actually kind of listless and disappointing. Too much diatribe and only a tiny bit of actual rampage.
