Drawing from a near perfect body of work, Ratatouille is my favourite Pixar film.

Patton Oswalt, a self confessed lover of fine food, brings such credibility to Remy that I can't imagine his words passing another actors lips. With his every lament in the kitchen you can almost smell every ingredient and it never fails to make me salivate.

The great Peter O'Toole is masterful in his contempt and condescension as food critic Anton Ego, which makes the pay off all the more moving.

Director Brad Bird's (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles) vision of Paris is gorgeous and Michael Giacchino's Oscar nominated score brings it to life.

More physical with its comedy than other Pixar films, it is a testament to the skill of the animators as it is all key framed, not motion captured.

More than just an ode to kitchen artisans, Ratatouille is about seeing through convention and letting nothing stand in the way of your dreams.

Now excuse me, I must away to the kitchen, I feel a dish coming on.

I couldn't agree more with MajorMercyFlush. The atmosphere in this movie, the storyline, the characters and the music are just perfect.

Really a masterpiece from the director Brad Bird and the studio who has given us so many wonderful movies Pixar.

Technically this movie had some amazing animation sequences. The realism of the rats when they were shown in packs was incredibly detailed. The story moves slowly and is probably going to be tough for busy body children to sit through.

"Ratatouille" has a nice moral of overcoming the odds and never giving up on your dreams. I did find it to be disappointingly average, though, given Brad Bird's past truly special animated films, namely "The Iron Giant" and "The Incredibles".

This is what you call a classic cartoon. I have watched this many times, I love it! This is my childhood. A solid 10/10.

Why are films about cooking so inspirational?! Especially how this is about a rat cooking! The message of 'anyone can cook' really resonates here, even as an adult. It made me feel motivated and pumped and inspired and hopeful. It was a lovely feeling and the soundtrack really accompanied that as well as the wonderful animation and scenery of Paris.

One of the few Pixar movies I hadn't yet seen. Like every single one of their other films, this is witty, beautiful and genuine, but in the end feels like light fare compared to some of the studio's masterworks. It doesn't have the suspense of The Incredibles, the heart of Up or the scale of Wall-E, for example, but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it.

The script enjoys a few legit family-friendly laughs and the animation shows some moments of inspiration, (I really liked the visualizations of competing/combining flavors, for example) and it gets points for trying out a unique setting but this never really has that moment where everything shifts into overdrive. Ah, well. My least favorite Pixar effort is still better than most of the competition.
