Very boring and too pretentious in the approach of characters. Completely expendable

The BEST zombie film I have seen in a while. Yes, it has a semi-artful approach, but it doesn't stint on the creepiness or the gore. While it's not particularly scary - how many horror films are these days? - it is at least a little inventive with its take on this well-worn genre. By the end, I was hungry for more!

I really wanted to like this. I was highly anticipating it, and it looked absolutely awesome. Unfortunately, while the score is very appropriate and the cinematography is beautiful, there's no other reason to watch this. There's no plot. No character development. There no reasoning for anything they do or for what happens. There is a lot of silence, standing around, and making bad choices, though.

Honestly, a huge disappointment for me.

Looked like a more art-house approach to the zombie genre, but could use some more meat to the plot (har har).. If you’re tired of this subgenre, this film won’t sway you back either. It has an interesting but unexplored twist to the zombie lore, but as the movie carried on I found myself bored nevertheless..

The most unique thing about this standard zombie film were the French-Canadian accents, and this is not a good thing. 

It is slow, somewhat boring, without rhythm, poor dialogues, without emotion. The only thing, the landscapes of the Canadian forests, beautiful photography, otherwise totally dispensable. Well filmed, serious film, but I don't see it as much different from another of the genre. I was a little disappointed.

TL;DR: Waste of time.

The writing is mediocre and direction just feels off. The way it was filmed makes it look like they were only going for nice cinematic shots instead of a compelling story about some apocalypse. [spoiler]The added "art pieces" were pointless and contributed nothing to the movie. Again as the cinematic shots, it appears as though they were trying to make something "artistic". It seems like the director is trying to get some nominations/awards in because his story is actually worthless. It's weird and it didn't make sense. I liked the ending though but literally only because I saw the beginning. Yes, I liked the reappearance of raceguy.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Honestly, the worst part was when the little girl walked on the bucket. She saw the bucket, went astray and then stepped on it. It makes me cringe just thinking about it. How did this movie win an award?[/spoiler]

Terrible. Tries to be too arthouse and focus on the characters, yet the characters are boring and bland. Thrills and gore are far too few and far between. Avoid this boring film. One of the worst (of the films that take themself seriously) I can recall seeing in the genre.

I enjoyed this for the zombies I found the storyline challenging and a little tedious
