Great movie...and suburb acting by Val kilmer and great special effects....Mars always interest me can't wait for humans to land on Mars let's hope I get to see it before I pass away it will humanity greatest achievement in history

Great movie with good acting, really enjoyed it.

only i expected more for the ending, i found it a bit ¨anti climatic¨

Better than expected but I had low expectations. Pretty decent sci-fi.

Fun Y2K take on a tree huggers fever dream of " we're gonna destroy the planet by (insert year here)", so we have to go find ANOTHER one to screw up, rather than fixing the root of the problems on the one we already inhabit. Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) at peak hotness, Val Kilmer, before the "Iceman" melted, Benjamin Brat at his brattiest, Simon Baker going, well..... Mental(ist), and the great Terence Stamp with his thoughtful, brooding silence. Oh yeah, and Tom Sizemore gets eaten alive by flammable bugs that "splode" real good.

Watch this and tell me that "The Martian" didn't steal..., er..., was inspired, by Val Kilmer's escape sequence. Just sayin!

Watchable space romp, with a rogue "Johnny Five" to boot! Good stuff Maynard.....

A nice surprise, this. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it actually delivers a very good sci-fi space film.

'Red Planet' has aged, for the most part, impressively well given it was released twenty years ago as I type. The visual effects for the majority, bar the outdated (understandable) computer technology, is still very solid - especially AMEE the robot.

The film starts off strongly, before losing slight footing once they reach Mars but quickly regains itself. I enjoyed watching it all unfold. It does go for some majorly heartfelt moments, not all of which come off; mostly due to the timing/set-up of them.

Onto the cast. No disrespect intended to Val Kilmer (Gallagher) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Bowman), as they are comfortable and satisfying together, but this could've done with a bigger onscreen presence from a top, top actor/actress. The performances from Kilmar, Moss & Co. suffice though. I even kinda digged Gallagher and Bowman's 'thing' by the end, which is unexpected as it's nothing special or overly well crafted.

This makes for enjoyable viewing - I didn't predict I'd be saying that to be honest.

Mars, a little red, but not too bad either.
