Exciting and action-packed, Resident Evil: Apocalypse is a non-stop thrill ride. Picking up where the last film left off, the story follows the outbreak of the T-virus in Raccoon City and Alice’s attempt to lead a group of survivors out to safety. Milla Jovovich returns and gives another solid performance, and is joined by Sienna Guillory and Oded Fehr, who both bring a lot of energy to the film. There are a few storytelling issues, as both the opening and the ending of the film are rushed, but the action is solid; delivering high-energy fights and shootouts. While Resident Evil: Apocalypse has some problems, overall it’s a fun and entertaining action/horror film that expands the series.

I enjoyed first movie. It was action, horror, near future, "be aware of big companies" message movie.

But second one is stupid. Middle part is really bad. [spoiler]When they are all shooting zombies and Nemesis in... where? In torso! But why? By that time they should know that you need to target heads. And I am still thinking if final fight between Nemesis & Alice should be some kind of gaming joke or it's just bad writing. Also that ending. Like how the hell are two most wanted criminals not recognized by Umbrella security when they collect Alice from stairs...[/spoiler]

Overall. It's poor action movie. And really bad sequel.

Like with many sequels it´s not a better movie, it´s just more of the same without beeing better. At times too much parallels with the first. Altogether still entertaining. You don´t watch this for the story.

While the original RE wasn't great, I quiet enjoyed it. Unfortunately, that is not true for this sequel, which was very silly! The ending makes up for the really bad beginning and the mediocre middle part, but I would still suggest to skip this flick...

It's a little bit less focused than the first one but still fun movie to watch

That Resident Evil: Apocalypse is a step down from the first one is beyond any question, but is it as bad as people say it is? Not really...

Yes...it's more cartoonish and over-the-top than the first one, and most of the "scary movie" elements are gone, but the action sequences are engaging, and the performances from most of the actors are good enough for what this is. The story, as in the first one, is not especially clever. It does a good enough job to drive the action, but that's about it.

What makes Apocalypse worse than its predecessor, is that it tries too hard to be something it's not. They tried to make it bigger and grander but only ended up making it a generic action movie instead.

So...what does that make Resident Evil: Apocalypse?

A rather plain action flic, with some interesting elements for the fans of the franchise, but not enough to make it rise much above average.

...and yes...the creepy dogs are still around.

As usual, a let-down sequel. The story just wasn't there for me.

This was just okay. In comparison I enjoyed the first one a lil more. Some of the actions scenes are good but a lot of the writing choices brings it down. Also it felt like the Mike Epps character was in a different movie entirely. I’m only watching these because I wanted to see the newest one, Welcome to Racoon City. And if these first two are any indication of the franchise, I have a long way to go.

You can't take survival horror genre and turned it into full action horror flick, plus it's a bad one with crappy writing, repeated jumpscares and plot holes like dead rising from their graves, what a joke

Well that was a thrill ride and it definitely upt the Ante from number one.
Now don't get me wrong,
I really enjoy number one and it's a great start to the franchise and close to the original game, more than any other movie entries in the series. But I much prefer this one, the scope, the scale, better interactions and much more interesting as we expand the going-on's from number one.
Alice is my favourite especially now she's got her superpowers, she's just so damn cool and sexy with it. Jill's Awesome as well, loving her and the humour and jokes landed perfectly. This is just a much more larger realisation of what this franchise wants to become,
Which is not live in the shadow of the iconic games. It's definitely laid the groundwork now to do it's own thing and build it's own Saga without anything
Needed to prop it up.
And i'm definitely all in for more of that.

The worst part i think bad story bad acting bad choices...

[spoiler]At the time the already long buried dead came out of their graves, i turned it off. [/spoiler] What a stupid movie. Part 1 was already just watchable but now i've had enough. Six parts, what a waste of money.

My least favourite out of them all, cheesy springs to mind, especially the female police woman. What on earth was she wearing and her acting was just over the top...more cheese :(

Nemesis is cool and it has a good ending but for the most part this is bad.

Another excellent film that stays true to the spirit of the first video game Resident Evil, Resident Evil specifically 2. The only problem is the "creative license" in this movie still are not a problem for fans of classic games Resident Evil, but in subsequent deliveries began to be growing.

Much like the first one…but different. The "fight" scene between Alice (Milla Jovovich) and Nemesis (Matthew G. Taylor) could have been an outstanding scene but (IMO) was filmed so poorly that it was extremely anticlimatic. It was next to impossible to discern anything that was happening, so there you go: the biggest scene in the movie was probably the lousiest. Apart from that (and, of course, the introduction of Nemesis) there really wasn't that much difference between this one and the original _Resident Evil_ film. This just felt (to me) like more backstory to whatever's coming in the next movie...or the one after that…or the one after that…or the one after that…(in the voice of Lord Farquaad in _Shrek_ ) "and so on and so forth."

I'm hoping the franchise gets better, i.e. a deeper storyline starts to develop. I'd hate to watch the original _Resident Evil_ with ten different titles.

The Resident Evil franchise is terrible, but the first 2 were good (for someone who played the game's). Don't expect Oscar performances here.
