There is almost no more story in it. It is just thrown together action scenes without any real sense or direction. Plus they created environments just to bring back characters they already killed in the movies before which, I think, is lame. Since this ended on a cliffhanger I will watch the next one for the sake of seeing how it ends. But I do hope it will be the last one because the series is deteriorating with every new movie. And even the admittedly sexy Milla can´t make up up for all the bad things.

Waste of time

what the... i love resident evil but this is just... just... horrible...The complete content of this movie fits in 2 minutes scene.

It can serve to hang out, but by this fifth installment, this saga has been completely distorted. No one turned away is the basic idea that guided the history of the early Resident Evil games, has moved away completely from the basic idea up to the newest in the series deliveries. The history of the previous 4 films leads this have an exaggerated story, with elements that border on the absurd, and the end is still more illogical and absurd. All it does is grab Andersen loose ideas and scenes of Resident Evil video games, and use it completely out of context and place. I can accept without complaint the first two movies, but since the third part, this film saga has gotten worse. This is no longer worthy to be called "Resident Evil" because not what the hell is, but beyond loose items, this is no longer even close to being true to the series of games that claims to represent.

Puede servir para pasar el rato, pero ya para esta quinta entrega, esta saga se ha desvirtuado por completo. No solo se alejo se la idea basica que guiaba la historia de los primeros juegos de Resident Evil, se ha alejado por completo de la idea basica de hasta las entregas mas nuevas de la saga. La historia de las 4 peliculas anteriores lleva a que esta tenga una historia exagerada, con elementos que rozan el absurdo, y con final que es ilogico y todavia mas absurdo. Todo lo que hace Andersen es agarrar ideas y escenas sueltas de las videojuegos de Resident Evil, y usarlo totalmente fuera de contexto y lugar. Puedo aceptar sin quejas las dos primeras peliculas, pero desde la tercera parte, esta saga en cine ha ido a peor. Esto ya no es digno de llamarse "Resident Evil", porque no se que rayos es, pero mas alla de elementos sueltos, esto ya no esta ni cerca de ser fiel a la saga de videojuegos que dice representar.

The only thing I enjoyed about the movie was Berry and Wesker :/ Even though Luther was there he was treated like the 'random character that is going to be killed eventually' so I didn't really care. Leon's actor was acting like he was memorizing the script. And yet again Alice is is in God Mode Sue where no one can do nothing without her and she's c00ler than you.

And why did they make that random russian guy who got killed Sergei? They wasted a perfectly good character that they could have used later just for a short killing scene.

At least I'll look forward to Wesker teaming up with the good guys in the next movie.

I became tired with all those repeated craziness.... I'll watch the next one just to put a big stone on it.

At the end some words about Resident Evil. I have to admit: I love the Resident Evil GAMES (!!), but not the movies. I had to watch the first one, but was very disappointed. Anyway, the Cliffhanger of every movie ending made it very interessting to watch the next one.
Also some action sequences were ok.

But this is not only a bad movie. The movie is looking soo cheap and so bad, you can not believe that this movie had 65 Million Dollar Budget. If you compare it with Starship Troopers 1 (100 Million and 17 Years old) it's so much worst like that.

By Faaaaaaar the worst Resident Evil Movie

I'm not really sure what the beef is with Paul WS Anderson and the film community, but I kind of think his movies are badass and a hell of a good time. I've been on record before as saying that we as an audience place too heavy of a reliance on story in a visual medium and I'll pull that card here again. _Resident Evil: Retribution_ plays a lot like a video game but also just feels like a piece of visual art. I have a blast with these films, particularly the ones by PWSA.

Resident Evil: Retribution is an atrociously awful piece of garbage that even zombies would find unwatchable. There really is no plot to speak of; instead it plays out as a first-person shooter video game. And the acting is god-awful...in facts it’s even worse than that. The series is completely bereft of ideas, and is running completely on empty. Offensive in how little effort it puts forth, there’s nothing engaging or thrilling about the action or the characters in Resident Evil: Retribution.
