[Atlántida FF] The film connects with the viewer thanks to characters who have an ambiguity of feelings, nostalgia and impotence due to a crisis that has caused the breakdown of their relationships. It's one of the most interesting elements of a story that, in its development, takes the path of the predictable. The director's effort to build pieces of a puzzle that leaves incomplete, ends up being frustrating.

_Back Home_ is a study of loss, like the preliminary sketch of a rich masterpiece or an étude for a tragic symphony.

Some may find the smaller scale (the movie is 77 minutes long) a default, but the film achieves what it sets out to be and the actors (Adèle Exarchopoulos is her usual ethereal self, Niels Schneider (who *killed* it in Sympathy for the Devil) adds depth to the character the script out hints at and child actor Roman Coustère Hachez is better than many older, more experienced and formally trained actors) create a gravitas around the work that validates it.

It may be 'just' a homework paper and not a thesis, but _Revenir_ fulfills the assignment admirably.
