Lady Kluck and Maid Marian are the best part of this movie. Can I just give them a 10/10?

I've seen this movie years ago and only remembered bits of it. It's a good movie though it lacks some context, but then it's an animated movie, why the hell would you want to learn about the Crusades and such?

It's funny, the songs are catchy but it is all too cheerful, even if the Nottingham citizens do pass a very difficult time (and it did reminded me of the state my own country is). I wouldn't mind it to be a little more dark, if you can call that to Robin or someone being injured, like the alternative ending. I liked it more than the actual ending, I mean at least it gives something to Maid Marian to do and explains the return of King Richard.

This Disney cartoon was grafted into my skin as a child, so it's impossible for me to review objectively. I just sit there, thinking about family who has since passed and remembering my childhood before I turned into a dick.

Not a fan, personally.

1973's 'Robin Hood' has never really connected to me on any level. It's far from a bad film, but I simply don't like how they changed it from humans to animals - not for any neophobic reasons, I just don't think it works as well with foxes, lions etc.

The voice cast, though, are the standout part of this. I always enjoy Phil Harris, even if him as Little John here is practically Baloo ('The Jungle Book') 2.0. Roger Miller is delightful as Alan-a-Dale, while Peter Ustinov is good as Prince John.

The plot is OK, just not massively entertaining or interesting in my opinion, while animation-wise it's fine. I personally wouldn't have changed it to be about our furry friends, though at least it makes this production standout from the countless other adaptations of this legend.

I can see why many love this, I just don't care for it much.

A bona fide Disney classic, Robin Hood is a delightful and enchanting film that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The story follows the bandits Robin Hood and Little John as they rob from the tyrant Prince John in order to alleviate the suffering of the people of Nottingham. In a clever move the film casts a variety of different animal characters in the roles, which allows for a shorthand in giving them each a personality type. The voice-actors are also brilliantly cast; playing to their strengths and using them extraordinarily well. Additionally, the music is incredibly whimsical and catchy, having a twangy folk style to it. Tremendously charming and creative, Disney’s adaptation of Robin Hood is a wonderfully entertaining adventure.
