there is no suicide bombing in Iran. Iranian people can't have gun in their homes. there is no terrorism in Iran. all over Iran there are countries with terrorist groups like alcaeda in Afghanistan or daesh in Iraq but there is no terrorist groups in Iran and we never had a terrorist attack or suicide bombing here. even in Paris daesh could do bombing but in Iran? they never could because Iran is so safe and nobody does suicide bombing. those men at the beginning of the movie are fictional because we don't have such that group here that kills and explodes!!! what did you think about Iran?! did you think Iran is Iraq? Tehran is a free city and we don't need freedom operation from USA to make us free because we already are in freedom and peace!!!

@mahyurr, I'd treat this "America is the greatest country in the world" crap as a joke. The funny thing of the joke is that the creators of the movie seem to really believe in that. Let's not upset those dummies by saying "Not, it's not. And it's foreign affairs is a hot burning pile of a horse shit.")

From Russia, with love!

@wilk-gardariki its so nice to see your supportive comment from our allied and brotherhood country, Russia
As you know Iran and Russia are fighting against Daesh (ISIS) while countries like Saudi Arabic, Israeil, USA, UK, France, Turkey are supporting them and give them money, vehicles and weapons. And i hope some day the world knows the truth (because the news lie about fighters and supporters of Daesh) that we are fighting against them and they are supporting them.
I hope the friendship between our countries continiues because you are good people and Iranian love Russia.
Love from Iran and see you in World Cup 2018 ;)

@mahyurr the stupid plot and American propaganda to show that the Persian and Iranian people are dangerous while most of Iranian-American scientists and businessmens are working hard to make US as it is today. US is built by immigrants and some low brain entities are making a reboot of a great movie like Rococop to a shitty movie like this. Except the story plot “Operation Freedom Tehran”, they made a okey movie.

@cuddlebear Today's lowered standards? Are you seriously able to quantify that, or is that distinction arbitrary?

idk why in every Hollywood movie Iran is a poor country. i know this is a movie and not every single movie based on true story but you can not tell lies in movies either! was it Tehran? really??! because i live in Tehran and what i see in robocop is like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan or what. that is not even a bit like Tehran. why you wanna show Tehran like a poor city? Tehran has skyscrapers, mega stores, beautiful streets and i believe Tehran is like Paris, Berlin and all modern cities but here i see my city in 2028 that is like Kabul in 1800!! poor streets, poor people. I've expected camels in this movie but i see Lamborghini in Tehran!!! please directors, there is a difference between fiction and lie. don't show Iran as a poor country like Iraq and Iranian people are not like this you show in movies...

Dead or alive, RoboCop gets rebooted. This new vision of RoboCop is more sci-fi and dramatic, and lacks the satirical edge of Verhoeven’s original. Seeking to qualm the public’s fears over law enforcement drones, OmniCorp puts multiple amputee and Detroit police detective Alex Murphy into a robotic suit; dubbing him RoboCop. Dealing with issues of a person’s humanity and automated security, the film is rather provocative. However, newcomer Joel Kinnaman gives an underwhelming performance as Murphy/RoboCop, and the plot is a little unfocused. While this new version of RoboCop delivers an action-packed and entertaining adventure, overall it ends up being fairly generic.

It's just kinda boring and meh. Nothing special about this that stood out to me. Joel Kinnaman is not a good leading actor. I did really like Samuel L. Jackson's parts.

After watching the original trilogy during the week, I was excited to revisit this one! It is very much in the middle of the pack. WAY better than 3, and there is some give or take with the 2nd. If you are a fan of the series, this is worth checking out. If you aren't, I still recommend the first.

Rating: 2.5/5 - 70% - Worth Watching

Okay movie.

Takes a long time to get into the Robocop roll then feels rushed to finish the movie.

Other than the stop-motion ED-209, which was nothing short of awesome, I never considered the original "Robocop" to be all that great. I don't have a lot of nostalgia toward it. I was 23 and all grown up (mostly) when I first saw it. It was campy and gory, which is all fine, but it was not "Total Recall" or "Predator". So watching this new version didn't ruin my memory of the original.

Joel Kinnaman was nothing special but anything with Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton in it is going to be enjoyable because you get the pleasure of watching them. I did get a kick out of RoboCop battling several ED-209 robots, which was really all I needed to see.

>"Bad cop, RoboCop."

This had so many ingredients to be a great movie. First of all, it's Robocop. Second, you have José Padilha as director (Tropa de Elite 1 &2), and third: Great actors. The story is not an exact remake but has some similarities, and is pretty good, but somewhere along the way it just doesn't feel as great as it could've been.

Very enjoyable in spite of some horrendous narrative choices early in the show, mostly revolving around Norton.

That said, I love the cast. Oldman is one of my favorite actors. He is just phenomenal. As is Keaton. Talk about a diverse actor! Haley, Garrow, Collins, and Cornish are also great. Jackson is his usual one dimensional singular self (ever notice that every character he plays is the exact same character?), if that's your cup of tea.

Still, the original is far better. This is the typical lackluster remake that Hollywood churns out. With modern special effects and a more modern story, this could have been amazing, but it isn't. The story isn't as good, the characters are as engaging, and the effects are really just marginally better than 30 years prior. Sure, there is less stop motion, but for a robot the stop motion actually worked well. Now everything seems synthetic to imitate the stop motion and doesn't do as well. One of the few movies where older effects were superior.

Robocop 2014 is just another of those TOTALLY UNNECESSARY remakes that either tries to "update" a classic into something the current public can stand without feeling the need to retreat into their safespace...or is just a blatant money grab. You pick, as I don't really care which it is.

Robocop 2014 is a lacklustre, extremely boring, piece of shit film, that has nothing of the things that made the original an instant classic. No real action, no satire, no violence, and no god damn fun.

Stay way clear of this shit. It's not even worth it if you can see it for free. You'll never get your two hours back.

The opening sequence is kind of hilarious. A giant terrifying mecha aggressively reassuring the civilians that they're safe. They couldn't try to make it a little more convincing?

And later he jumps over a wall to escape from a Chinese electronics factory and lands directly in a rice paddy surrounded by Chinese farmers wearing conical hats.

Everything in this film is a stereotype. Every element is as bland as generic and predictable as it possibly could be.

Lmfao, if anyone says the original is better hahaha this is a great reboot on the 80s version.
Checks all the boxes for today's standards
Even the original in the 80s was bad. And the sequels as well. #myopinion

Robocop should definitely not be PG-13. Yet this movie is a decent reboot. The cast is great but are pretty wasted. None really stand out as much as the originals.
They just made Robocop too human this time. With not even a robotic voice. Although it was probably a bit silly that he even had a robot voice in the original.
