I get the appeal of this movie. After the first 30 minutes I was afraid it was going to be another Indian action movie with over the top scenes and terrible story and acting.

However, the story turned out to be really good. The screenplay was clearly the best part of the movie. The acting by the main cast was pretty decent. Caveat: I did watch the Hindi dub. I wish Netflix had the audio in the original language. I could only watch either thr Hindi or English dub.

The biggest flaw with the movie is the over-the-top action. If you have ever seen a Bollywood movie, you know what it's like. Imo they should have toned it down a bit.

Overall an enjoyable movie with some obvious flaws.

This movie is better than most Hollywood movies in recent years.

“RRR” is basically a bromance historical drama where people rescue other people. It’s the apotheosis of kitsch under any possible aspect, yet its three hours felt like fifteen minutes. The secret is that even the most absurd action sequences and silly moments are emotionally driven story beats; everything is there for a purpose. Mandatory to watch in a movie theater, possibly in IMAX, as a unique multisensory experience.

Although this felt like an easy 10/10 right after going out of the movie theater, I have to revise my rating due to the overblown nationalism, the terrible English cast, and the fact that despite the ridiculously over-the-top action sequences and the chains of explosions, nothing really managed to top the climax already reached during the first half with the Nathu Nathu dance and Malli's rescue mission.

Just throw logic out the window and enjoy the film as it is. Lots of religious symbolism and torture sequences. But really well made. Amazing cinematography minus the obligatory flying fight scenes. Some hilarious scenes and very clean no vulgarity.

Three hours and five minutes of pure insanity. That's how the Indian epic "RRR" could be described. I can absolutely relate to the reports of cheering, screaming, and dancing crowds in theaters. Everything is way over the top—action, drama, pathos, slow motion, explosions, CGI animals, dances, and the booming soundtrack—and yet it's just perfect as it is. "RRR" is pure fun. The long runtime is no problem at all. The film goes by in a flash. That's partly due to the fact that everything is so refreshingly different from Hollywood productions. I'm not really familiar with the Indian film industry, but this movie is definitely something special.

I can only advise everyone to give "RRR" a chance. Any skepticism should have vanished by the time the two protagonists meet for the first time in a totally insane sequence. Later, when they start dancing to the hit song "Naatu Naatu", things really get going. And the action doesn't let up afterwards. The finale was then so spectacular that it almost left me speechless. If you can overlook the somewhat questionable morals of the story, the exaggerated nationalism, and the laughably one-dimensional villains, you should definitely watch "RRR".

This might be the greatest movie ever made.

Perfect, no notes. Quentin Tarantino wishes he could make a movie this good.

Very long and corny, and sometimes it gets a bit boring. Also, there is a romantic subplot I didn't care for, and the villains are cartoons.

Other than that, this was a wild experience that I won't forget. One of the rawest and most over-the-top action scenes I've seen in a while! In the opening scene, a dedicated police officer tries to arrest a protester among the crowd of other angry protesters. After that scene, I was fully ready for everything else.

You know, last year had a lot of lackluster blockbusters, but this movie delivers where those fail. It has everything, lol.

RRR is completely ridiculous. The CGI is exorbitant, the writing is melodramatic, and the action is outlandish. The emphatic racism alone is enough to abandon this film in the second act.

This makes Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking look subtle.
There’s definitely enough creativity and inventiveness in the action, I’ll give it that.
It’s all pretty spectacular, but it did absolutely nothing for me besides that.
It looks too maximalist, fake and kitschy (reminded me a lot of a Zack Snyder film), the acting from the English cast isn’t very good and it doesn’t have nearly enough meat on the bones to justify the 3 hour runtime.
Idk, if spectacle’s enough for you, I can’t recommend it enough. But it rang pretty hollow and cheesy for me.

If you can look past the (Mariana trench sized) flaws, this epic bro story will satisfy you. Slightly less subtle than a kick in the teeth, but far more amusing.

Unintentional hilarity aside, I kinda get the hype now...but also kinda don't.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. That scene with tigers jumping out of the truck is the pinnacle of south asian cinema.

Visually appealing and nothing else! If you like south Indian movies and can disable your brain for 3 hours, this is probably for you..

Great film. Very funny but wasn't expecting it to be so brutal, there's some pretty nasty stuff in it.

It definitely works as an entertainment movie, it is tense and keeps you engaged to know how it is going to end, in spite of the important length. It touches a non-easy historical background, it is clear it is pure fiction and not so realistic, not sure whether and how much it is appropriate.

What a ridiculously amazing movie. Especially the cage scene with all the animals flying out of the truck, like who is even out there thinking of this. Kudos to a tight script.

Entertaining movie to watch while having a few beers with friends, and for that it was very good. I probably wouldn't have finished it if I was watching it by myself.

Some scenes/concepts are very long. The plot has twists and turns and the there are many ridiculous scenes (in a good and fun way! Exactly what I expected from Bollywood)

This movie is something. And honestly it’s hard to put this into words without being confusing, contradictory, or full of spoilers. This movie is a bit of everything. Serious/Comedy. Action/Musical. Quality/Cheesy. Great visuals/Awful CGI. Synced Lips/Dub Over. Everyone is going to have a different experience with it. And its 3 hour run time will make it more unpalatable for those that don’t love everything that is happening. But that 3 hour run time also gives you more absurdity to like if you do enjoy it. Personally, I enjoyed it but I can’t possibly recommend it. I don’t know who I would be recommending it to. It’s worth watching, at least in part, to see if you enjoy it.

First Bollywood movie I watched.

I already knew there were be some overdone special effects but it was fun to watch. the English voices feels like old Chinese movies when they used different actor to translate.

But what cached my eyes was the image quality. Even on Netflix looks amazing with HDR. beautiful colors, cinematographic, details. Good thing this was an Indian movie. [spoiler]Their friendship got really close and I’m sure if this was made in the US it will look gay lol.. [/spoiler]

If you have 3 hours free, watch it with an open mind and enjoy it.

The best action film of the 2020s I've seen so far great cinematography and good music. The fight scenes are over the top but still fun and has that eye candy quality I crave. I watched on Netflix so it was dubbed into Hindi and not the original Telugu language. Bravo!
