My wife said the same thing, but I liked this sort of trashy twist final scene. It fit with the rest of the movie. I would have been fine with an ending where she had just moved on though, too.

@lilaa2020 actually that was the best part! the final line was awesome!.
I thought that she had Stockholm syndrome and felt sorry for her and that it will ruined the movie, but once she spill the pills and the "now, open wide" was fantastic!
It left me expecting it to end with her eventually finding her parents but I'll give some points for the ending we got just because it caught me by surprise.

It's OK but not original.

And a little dumb and slow sometimes.

And the ending?

If mom was already in prison why would she give the pills anyway? Payback? Weak script..

@erzsebete Because prison isn't the punishment she deserves, she deserves so much more. The unoriginal thing would have been her visiting
her real parents
tbh.

This movie had everything going for it: a strong story, wonderful actresses, good music and excellent cinematography. However, to me, the ending feels tacked on and undoes some character development. Many may see nothing wrong with it, but, it seems SHOCK VALUE was what they went for, instead of a thriller with morality, a morality the film maintained until the last minute and a half.

Good acting, good cinematography, a decent premise.... and it all fell short (except that great ending). There were way too many holes in story, we had to take too many leaps of faith for this to be plausible- it rips you out of the moment. And the unanswered questions! Like what was up with the scene showing the scars on the mother's back? It's never addressed! And what about that ridiculous garden? What was the point of that? The perfectly well adjusted 18 year old girl doesn't have a single friend? Not one? The pharmacist really thinks the 18 yo girl in the wheel chair is playing some scavenger hunt game with her mother and they have to guess the name of pills? And where did that line of people at the pharmacy come from? There weren't that many cars parked outside? Ok, I can let that one go, but seriously, there were so many of those moments!

It had potential, but ended up being meh.

A pretty good film, with some tense scenes and some good acting on display. Its probably not the worth the hype its getting, but a worthy effort nevertheless.

I watched this yesterday and live-tweeted along with the producers and cast of the film with hashtag #RunFilm. _Run_ is a decent suspenseful thriller about a mother and (a disabled) daughter; that reminds me very much of _Castle Rock_ season two (both of which are Hulu originals) and a little bit of _Curse of Chucky_. There are plenty of neat references to other Stephen King related things within this film that you might catch on your own. Having just finished watching _The Queen's Gambit_ (Netflix) and seeing _Run_, I noticed the use of green pills again making it a great segue between the two (one of those coincidences again, I tells ya!). Also, note that there's a deliberate use of the colors green and purple too, so keep a look out on that. :purple_heart: Sarah Paulson (mother) was wonderful in this, and so was new-face, Kiera Allen (daughter).

It’s a very good movie, yet almost predictable. The concept is executed well, but we've seen it before. Great twist though.

Lots of tense "hurry up before she gets back!" scenes, that together with a few plot twists make an entertaining and suspenseful thriller.
A few holes in the plot, and there could have been a little more to the story (what was with the scars on Diane's back, for example? did Chloe really have no friends at all?) but overall a tight screenplay. Well done, recommended.

It's an enjoyable movie. Not bad and not good. It's an okay movie. Sarah Paulson is acting great. The pace is good, keeps you interested on how it will develop. The concept is simple but they could explore it more, make it darker. Maybe it wasn't to be like that, but the way they presented it just seems to be someone with narcissist personality disorder or something like that. But I really like how the main character (Chloe) tries to escape, she made some smart choices considering her conditions. The final is not that surprising nor well developed, it happens too fast and easy to me. But I recommend. It was very fun to watch and pass some time.

Not a good film. Like some 4th rate knock off of a Stephen King novel. Predictable, silly and very uninteresting.

Same story as “The Act” miniseries on HBO based on real life events. Why do they make a similar movie?? Lame.
