I knew right from the first scene that I wasn't going to like this movie, which seems to be somehow a sequel to "Spiral" but not "Ring 2". Terrible effects, a cheap look, and questionable acting choices are already apparent at the start. There are a few interesting ideas in "Sadako 3D", but the "Ring" series never really got over the transition from the VHS era to the digital age. Again, everyone knows about the cursed video. And everyone is desperate to watch it. Why, exactly? No idea! In any case, no one here behaves like a normal human being.

What's new this time is that after watching the video, the kills look like suicides, at least to outsiders, and they are staged without any creativity. And apparently you don't even have to wait seven days for (spider monster!?) Sadako to take your life. I do wonder, though, how the video is supposed to get around when you die immediately afterward. The plot revolves once again around solving the mystery behind the video. However, everything is done so poorly that there is never even a hint of suspense. In the end, this film isn't even entertaining trash. It's simply too dull for that.
