Savage Grace

There are some movies where the less you know about the story, before going in, the better. With this movie, the opposite is true. Apparently this is based on real events, with what amounts to a true-crime story. If I had actually known about the Baekeland family before seeing this, it would have played better. Alas, never heard of them. So, this is a decade-spanning period piece about a rich family doing rich-people things. All pretty boring. We have a mother (Barbara), a father, and their son (Tony). While Barbara really is the driving force here, this is truly about Tony. _Savage Grace_ is slow, but interesting... up until midway, where it began to wear on me. The third act is where any due infamy spawns. I say "due," but nothing here was very shocking. Ultimately a long walk to nowhere.
