This should cool off the Rambo wannabes. The opening beach assault sequences were the most violent, realistic, and upsetting filming I've ever seen; looked as though the thing was actual combat footage. The shushing noises of rounds cutting through the air was the most chilling part of all. Perfect portrayal of the insane stupidity of war and the anguish of all who enter this most foolish of enterprises. A must see.

One of the best war movies ever. The first 30 minutes are so intense. Spielberg is a master director and that may be his best scene ever. There are so many actors in this that I forgot about, Bryan Cranston, Paul Giamatti, and Nathan Fillion.

Of course this movie is a classic and should have won the best picture Oscar. One thing I dislike about this movie is when it jumps into the future. I would have preferred it if it ended in its own period.

The sequel, Saving Ryan's Privates..also a good watch

One of the best anti-war movies I know, even though it tends a bit towards cheesiness (e.g. when Captain Miller dies and tells Private Ryan to earn his life).

"Saving Private Ryan" is a 1998 war film directed by Steven Spielberg (one of my favorite directors) that really leaves an impression on the audience. From the tense opening sequence depicting the chaos of the D-Day invasion to the emotional journey of a group of soldiers searching for one man, the movie draws you in with its realistic and intense depiction of war. The outstanding performances, led by Tom Hanks, capture the camaraderie and sacrifice of the soldiers in a deeply moving way. Spielberg's direction effortlessly balances action and introspection, making us reflect on the human cost of war. "Saving Private Ryan" is a powerful and thought-provoking film that pays tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who fought during the Second World War. Highly recommended.

It's worth the hype. Awesome movie with an amazing story.

This was an absolute brilliant movie. Great cast, realistic action and an amazing story. I’m not big on war movies, but I doubt I’ll ever see a better one that this. Absolutely loved it.

the film gets so much better as it progresses... horrors of the war are so amazingly portrayed . Such a diverse starcast too! and As usual Tom Hanks NEVER disappoints.

That fact that this movie didn't won't Oscar made many fan angry. There were backlash against Oscar. This should clearly give you hit how good the movie is

This film only gets better, definitely a magnificent film and camera work is outstanding. A lot of actors in this have done well for themselves. Spielberg has made a lot of great movies, definitely another one that deserves my top list.

A search for one soldier among the chaos of war, gives the opportunity for superb acting performances both big & small.

I can never forget some scenes...all the emotions that these soldiers go through on the battlefield is truly heart wrenching...all the sacrifices come down to one unavoidable queston..did we earn this freedom..?.. this life.. can we lead our lives as a good man?...
