Sarah Michelle Gellar basically plays Buffy again.

Some say this sequel is superior than the first but it's goofier and forces the Fred and Daphne relationship on us more. When despite being married Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar have no chemistry.
Prinze Jr. tries hard to be cool as Fred but he comes off as dorky as he was in the first. Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini once again prove to be the better casting.
The first was goofy but I at least found it more involving.

Learning no lessons from the first film, _Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed_ recycles the same tripe. However, there is more of an attempt to homage the original cartoon show; including bring back some of the old monsters from the series and returning to the traditionally unmasking of the villain at the end. The cast chews up the scenery, but this kind of works given the level of camp that the film is going for. And the cheap, half-assed animation is masked somewhat by the simple character designs. _Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed_ is a step up from the last film, but it’s still garbage.

Matthew Lillard played Shaggy so well and almost covered up for the lack of chemistry between the rest of the cast

As the first Scooby Doo movie, this sequel never got to me and I found it just silly!
