The movies went back to being more old school, man behind the mask. After a couple of movies with real monters.

I remember growing up I really enjoyed this one, even if it was not on par with the likes of Zombie Island. While I still enjoy this much more than many of the Scooby films we have gotten in the last 20 years, I think this safely falls much more into the average tier of Scooby movies than anything else. Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching

This movie was a major throwback, and not just because it was made in 2003. Unlike some of the early direct-to-video _Scooby-Doo_ films, i.e., _Zombie Island_, the monsters and ghosts were not real. That's true to the spirit of the original cartoons, and I much prefer that plot device. The typical action and comedy was present, and, overall, it was fun. The only complaints I have were the opening credits seemed too simplistic for a film released by a major studio--seriously, having the cast's names appear in Comic Sans?--and that Velma and Daphne's voices were a little bit off, due to the original actors--who had seriously aged since the days of the _Where Are You?_ cartoons--reprising their roles. Still, fans of "those meddling kids" will likely enjoy it, though some scenes may scare youngsters.

Some redeeming factors include that the location is a different country, the movie keeps the series running, will keep child fans entertained, and the music is above average. Perhaps the the best and surprising part is finding out that Scooby ends up having a gal in Mexico. Otherwise, I'm thinking More
