Scrooge: A Christmas Carol

Mostly for people too young to know it steals a lot of the songs from the Albert Finney Scrooge movie.

An animated adaptation of the 1970 musical, _Scrooge: A Christmas Carol_ is an entertaining and fun family film. Based on the Charles Dickens novella, a crotchety old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits who attempt to show him the error of his ways. Luke Evans, Jonathan Pryce, and Olivia Colman lead the cast and give solid performances. And the animation is quite imaginative and colorful; though at times some of the characters look a little clayish. Also, the musical numbers have been paired down from the ’70 version to just a handful of the core songs (“Happiness,” “Thank You Very Much,” “I Like Life,” etc.), but the ones they do they do in spectacular fashion. _Scrooge: A Christmas Carol_ is a whimsical film that delivers a unique vision of this immortal tale.
