There’s nothing original about kids learning at a special school. Especially since this is the 3rd movie from Disney like that, this year.
Peyton Elizabeth (Andi Mack) has a bright future though. While the movie should entertain the whole family. Even if I doubt anyone will watch it again and again.

Film 103 (Goal: 300) of 2024

Secret Society of Second Born Royals is a standard Disney+ / straight-to-streaming fare. The idea of a group of teenagers with differences but a shared trait coming together under the guidance of someone is definitely not new. I think of Kingsman of a recent example, where this was done really well.

With all this in mind, this isn't that bad for a simple watch. There are a myriad of issues with it. From the uneven dialogue, the bland villain, some questionable acting. Or perhaps that the small "European" nation looked very similar to New York City. But despite some clear problems, at a basic level, there was enough here to get me from scene to scene and keep me mild entertained.

Will I ever watch this again? No, not a chance. But I was looking for an easy watch, without having to use my brain and this was it for tonight.

This maybe an okay watch for a pre-teen audience but it is totally devoid of any creativity, adventure, mystery, drama or depth. I kept waiting for it to get better. It never did. I give this film a 5 (meh) out of 10.

I watched it as a joke lmfao it’s fucking garbage. The lead character is so incredibly annoying, she’s literally all the cliches that teenage kids always are in movies in one person. If this was a show I wouldn’t be able to finish more than one episode, I’d die of second hand embarrassment

Step down from big budget superhero fare that is aimed squarely at the tween set. Not bad, but not incredible, either.

Low budget movie with a predictable Disney plot, looks more like a tv pilot of a tv series than an actual movie

If the movie had been filmed during the pandemic I would have understood the lack of anything solid happening, but it wasn't. Sadly this was not a great movie in my opinion. Not bad, but not exciting or rave worthy. I'm a fan of a lot of the cast, and they did well, but it was predictable and slow, with the big action sequence lacking any, well, action. It was over in a couple of minutes with ease. If you have kids under 10, they will probably enjoy it and it's fairly clean for them.

This was a decent Disney movie and it wasn't a musical for a change. This felt like a really good pilot for a regular series or at least a series of movies.
