It was an ok story, maybe not fleshed or enough. But the soundtrack was great.

A pleasing audio visual and atmospheric experience with majestic nature juxtaposed with pompous remains of aristocracy and again with the harshness forged by the history of the Highlands. Some very nice scenes and at least one clear nod to executive producer Dario Argento. Unfortunately some less successful visual gestures but nothing that can't be forgiven in the great sum of things. The story is a bit unpolished and could have done one more round. The final act in particular is rushed and has some predictable narrative turns that feel out of place and the wrap up feels very forced. But considering it is a full length directorial debut, I'll keep an eye out for where director Charlotte Colbert goes from here.

Like a celibate orgy, a lot of people show up but they have nothing to do.

This neo-horror is little more than a disjointed rape and revenge tale with a little witchcraft mixed in.

The titular 'she' is the daughter of the witches we did kill.

Visually fantastic and suitably atmospheric. The film didn't work quite so well on a narrative level but it still managed to get its point across.

[AtlàntidaFF '22] It's not so much a horror movie but a psychological study on trauma using references to witches who were burned at the stake, whose ashes end up being healing. It is wrapped in a form of folk horror to build reflections on physical and moral scars, the condemnation of the body in female maturity, the trauma of dreams achieved by paying a high price. Although sometimes it is too obvious.

Such a visually stunning film. This is a haunting, dreamy and mysterious folk horror/revenge tale unpacking past trauma through images that witness fragments of the past violence blurred into nightmare. It starts off really slow before transforming into something hypnotic and surreal with imagery that are still running through my mind. Definitely not a scary film but the way it at times swings between arthouse and nonsensical is just so delightful and Alice Krige is more than stunning in her performance.
