A well directed slick slasher, that above all else is 83 minutes long. I like/hate the use of the pandemic and the reveal doesnt fully work for me but I don’t hate it either, wish there was a little more meat on the bones but also should be celebrated for its runtime!

A straightforward and mean slasher/home invasion horror. Although it doesn't reinvent the wheel and I thought the COVID stuff was too lame and didn't really play well, especially coming from the writer of the Scream franchise. this is still an undeniably fun film. And a very tight one. I love how brutal some of the kills are and I also appreciate that it contains fewer stupid decisions compared to any home invasion flick out there.

Very predictable, but still suspenseful. Had me on the edge of my seat in a fun way. Slight twist about an hour in. Don’t take it too seriously!

While i'm definitely sick of anything Covid related and seeing masks, I think the pandemic elements were cleverly integrated. For most of the movie I was eye rolling at the Covid stuff but by the end of the movie I kinda dug it. It doesn't make it original by any means, it's very much a cliché by the book slasher... and it was a good one at that! Very thrilling, action-y and the fight scene choreography was amazing. Characters put up a real good fight and are hard to take down (excluding one). The kills were all very satisfying and brutal. House looks beautiful, nice camerawork, decent score and acting. Although it gets very repetitive with the cat and mouse chase and the open doors made me cringe a lot. The snake story was by far the most sick thing in the movie!

I’m always wary of a movie that can’t come in at 90 minutes, but this was a decent slasher flick

I hate great expectations for this film especially bearing in mind who the writer is.

I found myself getting more and more angry with the same old clichés which kept on coming and coming and coming ....

The acting/actors were poor and this being generous.

I feel Mr Williamson has RIPPED OFF up and coming writers , directors and producers in Dave McRae and Bruce Dale's recent success IT'S ME BILLY (Black Christmas sequel) as there were just to many familiarities in this to make it a coincidence.

Move over Williamson .. make way for the McRae .. and Bruce :ok_hand_tone2:

4/10 at best I'm afraid for this.

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Sick’:

1. This one is a bit tricky to rate because, while I can appreciate the creative take on 2020, and the way they made it into a solid slasher film, the COVID-ness of it all just felt a little silly to me. It also wasn’t fun to relive that moment in time.

2. I thought the reveal of multiple killers was cool. Didn’t see that coming.

3. The acting was good. I thought the leads were fantastic. I just wish the characters were a little more fleshed out. It was a fairly short film and I feel like they could have used a little more time to make us care a little more.

It was an ok slasher. Could have probably made the same movie without the COVID story.

A smart slasher film for the Covid generation. Though some will probably just call it woke and write it off. Since the movie is called Sick. I did see the twist coming that the killers are after someone who spread Covid.
The fight scenes feel surprisingly realistic. The ending was just missing a zoom in to the Covid test, showing it as negative lol. Without that it didn’t feel like the movie fully lived up to its potential.

By far not the worst thing to come out of COVID, interesting setting but the motive was awful and that really let the ending down. Still, always a fan of a slasher movie.

I went into this with very low expectations but it turned out to be pretty good. There are a few plot contrivances near the end but it's well directed and has some decent 'shock' moments.

Good if I'm honest.
From the creators of
my number one favourite
Horror franchise SCREAM
and from my number
Favourite production
company BLUMHOUSE,
of course this movie
was going to capture
my attention.
I didn't really care for
the plot subject matter
(I'm glad to have all
that nightmare firmly
in my rear view mirror,
even now we are not
allowed in our doctors
without a mask).
I had no investment
in the two lead girls
especially Parker
she annoyed me from
the beginning.
That being said I've
never seen a movie so
focused as that
unprecedented situation
and turn that Nightmare
into a Horror, that was unique
and pretty clever really and
to tie the motivation in
as well was cool.
It's never going to be
in Screams league ever,
that franchises is just
Phenomenal, but for
"Sick" to be a
One and Done
movie coming in at
Under 1h 30m
I found it a pretty
Good time,
And I'm Glad That
I Didn’t Keep My
Distance From This
One.

I haven’t seen almost a single film where the pandemic and COVID obesie were the driving force of the plot, so at least it’s late, well, OK. It is also a slasher as simple as a knife strike, maybe nothing special, but he uses his trump cards at 100%. Disposable movie, but at least inventive and evil:knife:

A generic killer with a generic knife tries to kill generic young people during the covid lockdown for no apparent reason.
A reason that when revealed turns the film from an ordinary and boring slasher to crap.

Like a meat hammer in the hands of a blind clutz: solid, scary and often unpredictable.

It's not hard to make a good horror film. You just need to have lots of action and scenarios so realistic they sidestep clichés and -- despite one twist too many and its far right COVID stance -- that's what Sick delivers.
