This was way better than Knight of Cups but not as good as Into Wonder. Malick has done his trilogy of perfume adverts - as beautiful looking as they are but lets move on now. Give the man a script.

Feel like this is Malick doing a parody of Malick. It's a good looking movie, as you'd expect from him, but the directionless voice-narrative full of angst and existential crisis is just getting tired as f**k. So much talent wasted in this flick, from Malick being stuck in a Malick-hole, to the great cast being stuck there with him, and right on down to the poorly tapped resource he had in the Austin music scene. Breaks my heart, man...

I abandoned this after the first 35 minutes. For all the wondering around and circling each other, they represent stereotypes, not complex characters, as this free flowing, unregulated approach to film making would lead you to believe. This seeems to be typical of Terence Malick films (this will be the first and last film of his I'll ever see). For me it was a self indulgent, self delusional form of emperor's new clothes - it will win critical acclaim but the truth is that it is all vacuous and pretentious with no real content. As another commentator said, "Give the man a script", for goodness sake. I was drawn to the film because of the gifted cast but, quite frankly, I was bored. I give this film a 5 (bored) out of 10. [Terrence Malick genre]

Good cinematography and great talents wasted in a boring movie without a plot.

Malick has made the same film twice in a row, here with Fassbender and Gosling instead of Bale, but repeating Portman and Blanchett, for example. A lot of pose, a lot of beautiful photography and, as a novelty, here a lot of modernist residential architecture in the houses facing the exteriors of Los Angeles.

The perfect ending to a trilogy of sensations, not because its virtues, but because it flaws. Terrence Malick's cinematic poetics shows exhaustion here. It is the most redundant, the most disorderly, in which the actors seem the most lost... It has, surprisingly, a mediocre, flat, amateur cinematography work. A film made with reluctance, which only finds some oasis of brilliance. It's a Malick's, despite everything.

"The world wants to be deceived"

Song to Song is not really a movie, but more of an experience. The feeling of adventure and freedom like in most Malick movies. Something I felt was missing from "Knights of Cups". While still not having a straight forward narrative that audience members are gonna hate, just like how Malick isn't for everyone.

The film captures life of are characters daily activities, shot a very long time ago.

I've hated this. No sense. I've put a lot of hope in this movie...I'm not at all a Malick fan, he's too slow for my taste, but still I had hype. I should have known better, but still here I am disappointed. Great cast but wasted. I can't find sense in this movie, honestly. Everything TOO FUCKING slow. I'm sorry for Rooney Mara because she's HUGE, but this dialogues, with that tone of voice..I really wanted to burn this movie. I still can't see how Fassbender is a great actor...nice thing you have an handsome face, I can't see nothing more.
Kinda envious because Rooney makes out with Fassbender and Gosling.
Listen to me: 2 hours wasted, you can watch something better.
This is all.
