Nice. All the things supposed to be in a space movie are in there.
CGI is really good. Acting is ok, story is ok. If you do not think too much on some details, it is a fine entertaining movie.
Enjoy.

So this is basically Guardians of The Galaxy, with a robot instead of Groot, a kid instead of raccoon, and the girl is not green. 8 Starlords out of 10.

Other than decent CGI, this movie lacks in every other aspect. Convoluted plot, check. TERRIBLE acting, check. Unlikeable main characters, check. Non-existent soundtrack, check. Lame bad guy with even lamer downfall, check. Humorless, check. Stupid ending, check. Predictable plot-twists, check. Overly dramatic acting, check.
This might be awesome in Korea, but for a mainstream movie in the US, it's total 'space' garbage.

Had a good first act. Second acts was lackluster. Kim Tae-ri is a great actor, but poorly utilized as captain Jang. She was not the captain, Tae-ho was. She was sidelined and underutilized. In fact it was the Robot Bubs with the most character and interest.

There was never an explanation for the antagonists superhuman life. Was it the same tech as Kot-nim?
His motive also made no sense. He want to create a new world that is fair and just. What does that have to do with genes. This is pure master race syndrome with little to no morality to back it. Contradictions right there.

Still good watch. I'm a fan of both Song Joong-ki and Kim Tae-ri so I wanted to give it at least one watch. Really wanted a knock out with these two leading but this ain't it. Maybe next time.

nooooooooo nononono! no.

Reminiscent of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, this is all eye-candy & no substance.

I can see where it had potential, but utterly fails to land it.
Feels a little like a.... "Asian cargo-cult flick"(?) : blockbuster made in Asia with an eye on a what they think would appeal to western audience, and utterly failing either.

Would be easy to blame it on the bad dub, but even that does not account for the inability to make any sort of connection to any of the shallowly stereotypical archetype characters.
If they actually die in the end in an act of heroic sacrifice, that would've at least have been some redemptive conclusion - without a hope for a sequel.
I think there could be something interesting still buried in there; maybe in a fan-edit.
If I was stoned out of my gord, maybe in the background.

For a better time, watch Space Truckers.

Good candidate for a Razzie

problem =
don't really care much for "frantic/wild sewer-rat poor people/criminals" as "heroes"
non-english detracted even more for feeling for them and their story
frantic cuts/editing for action sequences

This has major Rogue One vibes blended with Firefly, Star Trek, and a good solid dose of Bebop. Very enjoyable, and I can’t wait to see if we get anything else in this universe.

STOP. GIVING. FILMS. WITH. MEDIOCRE. SCRIPTS. AND. CHARACTERS. A. GOOD. RATING.

There is no excuse for it in the 21st century. We know how to make coherent stories and good characters, and we should NOT FUCKING ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS.

You folks even admit it's got shallow characters and a nonsense story. That is _not_ a 7-8, ,much less a 9. Five is AVERAGE. You have been normalized to not give anything below a Seven, and that is wrong and makes ratings pointless, and it makes YOU a consumerist goob.

Rant Over.

1/10 rating to compensate for all the noncritical consumerist trained monkeys.

Like an Afghani-Irish stew, _Space Sweepers_ is convoluted with some tasty, if predictable, bits.

This Directflix sci-fi space opera stands apart from the rest of the fleet thanks to its stellar cast, insane production value and Oscar worthy special effects. Seriously, the fx are so good I nearly wept from the frustration at not being able to see them in IMAX.

Oh, and Bub is officially my favorite sci-fi robot of all time. So, there's that.

Why is that Koreans and Japanese like so much unjustified annoyingly arrogant characters? As well as childish performances and cartoonish choreographies? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big anime watcher, but this movie overdoes everything and has all the cliches and common places of every other bad movie.

South Korea delivers a full throttle space opera with a plethora of intense action, light hearted comedy and a memorable cast of characters you won't soon forget.

Enjoyable movie, Korean directors need more appreciation. Only thing I didn't like about the film was what was going on with James Sullivan? Confused in regards to what was going on with his character.
