Ok but incomplete documentary.
They spend half the time on the group's history and the building of BIO2. The rest is only about BIO2 during its first use 1991-1993, the fighting of the control of the BIO2 company and what some the original group of people are doing today.

You only get 4 sentences on a black screen about what happened the next decades.

*No video how it looks now outside/inside today/during the decades.
*No info what's been done in BIO2 since 1993.
*No info about a the second closure experiment.
"The second closure experiment achieved total food sufficiency and did not require injection of oxygen."
*No info why the CO2 spiked.
"Microbes in our organically enriched soils had produced carbon dioxide at a greater rate than our young plants could produce oxygen via photosynthesis. We discovered that most of the missing oxygen was converted to CO2 and had been absorbed by the unsealed concrete in our habitat."
This documentary was brought to my attention when Owen Pallett announced that he was behind its soundtrack, and it has been on my watchlist since. To preface this, I am not an expert of any kind when it comes to biospheres and science, so I came in without much knowledge of the matter on hand, hoping for a break from dramatic twists in TV shows and movies. But at the end, I got a fascinating look at the visionary minds of these individuals, the driving forces behind all their work, how it's continuing its way into our lives 25 years later and how things were on the verge of falling apart in that time. I'll definitely dedicate some of my free time to look deeper into these matters.

I'm an environmentalist, believing that the human race is f*cking this planet over, for its own personal goals without any thoughts about the consequences in the long run.

This documentary does not really show that. It's way to flimsy and it's actually starting about 40 min in, when they actually enter the Biosphere 2 dome.

This is nothing compared to "Cowspiracy" or "An inconvinient Truth" or the latest "Tiger King" and the little older "Wild Wild Country" (with Mr. Bagwan and his entourage).

I believe this is going to be a hard watch for a lot of people, not as easily digested and edible as the ones named above.

5 carbon dioxide molecules out of 10.
