Meh, there were holes on the plot but overall 'twas an interesting plot. Considering this movie is about 80 years old and dancing around a subject like "psychoanalysis" in it's early years makes me appreciate more tbh. Loved an another Bergman-Hitchcock collab though. So it's worth a watch.

Spellbound is one of the best movie directed by Hitchcock. The acting is great, the story is amazing and really mysterious. The final gun scene is amazing and the intrigue is surprising. Definitively a great movie.

Hitchcock leaves much of Spellbound's twisty plot to contrivance, but his assured utilization of obscurity and Mrs. Bergman's fabulous portrayal of the age-old conflict between logic and affections are more than enough to fascinate.

Bergman and Peck are both luminous in this; pity that the psychoanalysis stuff is patently ridiculous. I think Hitchcock does better when his interest in subconscious urges are explored more...subconsciously (see, e.g., Vertigo and Rear Window) and here it all devolves into so much psychobabble. Still, if you get past the myriad issues with therapy stuff and approach it as a romantic crime caper it's all decently fun. Just not one of Hitch's best.

An interesting film with some nice twists, a few of which you can see coming. Hitchcock doesn't disappoint here. While the movie is a little slow to start, it becomes satisfying as it nears the finish.

Ingrid Bergman is very good here and Gregory Peck is just okay as his character is in a funk throughout most of the picture. The ease with which the psychiatrists analyze Peck's dreams was rather silly. The Salvador Dali-inspired dream sequence was very interesting. Not the best Hitchcock movie but still entertaining.

Hitchcock, Bergman & Peck - star power from old Hollywood combines for a very good thriller. Totally worth watching.
