Highly disappointing.

I mean, I'm not mad I watched it and it had good moments but it just failed to hit on so many levels.

I love Chris Rock. I thoroughly enjoy his films. However, I just can't take him seriously in a movie like this. His voice, and acting in general, are synonymous with comedy. His style just doesn't work in a horror film.

The dialogue in general was just so generic. I mean, come on, the old "I don't need a partner...Yea well you're getting a partner" trope.

The "Twist", I called the moment he was assigned a partner. I was positive it was the partner but there was a little moment where I wondered if the Captain was in on it too. But not for long. It was the most deflating "reveal" we've had in the Saw Series.

The traps were just OK. However, I'm pretty sure non of them were actually survivable. Especially, the water trap. He only paused for a brief second and still died. Even if he hadn't paused, he would not have had enough time. The voice was abysmal. I didn't expect Kramer to be back, but they could have figured out a better voice. The one they went with sounded like Kermit and Ms. Piggy's sadistic offspring.

Overall, it was not the worst in the series but far from the best. Very Middle of the pack.
