Who Knew Melissa McCarty could act? ... what a surprise after so many moronic roles.

Oh I am so gonna miss Bill Murray when he is gone. But for now we can still enjoy his amazing performances on screen!

I do wish Chris O'Dowd had some more screentime. I could possibly enjoy a whole movie about that teacher character.

This easily became a favorite of mine. The story is very moving. It really didn't go where I thought it was going to go, and I'm pretty much ok with that. Plus, Bill Murray is like comedy God.

The entire cast does a good job of making this run-of-the-mill drama entertaining. There's nothing even close to original about the story but Bill Murray makes it not matter. He's great.

Melissa McCarthy plays it straight with Naomi Watts providing a lot of laughs, which is obviously the opposite of what you'd expect.

The climatic ending moment feels corny and unearned, but the rest of the package is so enjoyable I don't mind much.

Overall the movie was just about what you would expect. This theme has been done before - some better, others definitely worse. I am a little surprised that Murray took this movie because it didn't quite fit the type of movie that he has done the last twenty years (criminally underseen indie movies, like Broken Flowers). I am also surprised that Murray tried to maintain the Irish accent throughout the movie because he was not consistent with it from scene to scene (which was a bit distracting). I would like to have seen the three leads with something more substantial to work with rather than the "cranky old guy next door needs saving" theme.

It's a charming movie. There are a few too many cliches but still enjoyable. Bill Murray carries the movie. Melissa McCarthy and Jaeden Lieberher are both great too.

_Gran Torino_ light with some pretty dark moments, just at the end became kind but cheesy.

Decent. At about 18 minutes when an acoustic songs plays to the scene of the bullied kid I could see the simularity between this movie and About A Boy. Murray plays a role he's played before and he's good at it. The story itself is very predictable and slows down a bit as it goes for the heart strings rather than comedy.

Bill Murray stars as Vincent, a misanthrope who reluctantly babysits his new neighbour’s kid. They form a unique friendship etc etc

This is roughly ‘About a Boy’ with Hugh Grant replaced by drunk Bill Murray. However, St Vincent manages to be sentimental and corny without making you want to puke in your mouth, which isn’t a bad trick to pull. You won’t be watching it again in a hurry but there are worse ways to spend 90 minutes.

St. Vincent is an entertaining film with a well-worn message, but Bill Murray, in his finest role since Lost in Translation, transforms it into holiness.

A meaningless pretentious review no one will care about for a movie made more than seven years ago. X/Y
