The film is very well built, very interesting the parallelism between the stations of the cross, and the life of the protagonist. Very nice also the fact it is set in Germany, where a more normal societal behavior is shown, compared to what it could have become if it were a US movie. Not so convinced regarding the ending, a bit too forced, but still problematic enough to trigger important reflections.

A great film with an awesome script.
This is a hard film to make and very disturbing to watch.
Only with those long takes and masterful mise-en-scène you can describe the sorrow behind the rigid religions. so, Great job Dietrich Brüggemann. I'm gonna follow you from now on!

Ah, the church bells will be tolled for alarm, because the film in a venomous manner ridicules religious fanaticism and the futility of a miracle. Strong, insolent cinema.
