Step up has been my *favorite* movie series the past years. It all started with Channing Tatum in the first movie. But that fact aside:
“Step Up: All in” is the typical Step up movie:
It’s (a) predictable (as in: Guy always gets the girl, plus somehow plot twist, but in the end everything is alright) and (b) focusing on dance and not the storyline (what’s really sad, because I really like storylines. I missed something more meaningful in this Step Up)
I am a (street-) dancer myself and I need to add that the moves were *great*, but overall too much show. This movie is different from the others in the matter of the dances. It’s more focused on show-dancing and not the good old street dance (that I really loved in the other movies).
But what kept me watching this movie was the good old cast (Adam Sevani, Ryan Guzman, etc.). If you loved them in the other movies, you will still love them in this one.
I would recommend this movie if you already watched the other movies. I am a fan, and that’s why I went to this movie, but you should definitely not go to the cinema and watch this as your first Step Up.
