Bill Baker, an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma, travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, Allison, who is in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. A solid, character-driven crime thriller which asks some poignant questions about right and wrong, and what we ultimately give up to meet those ideals. Some great chemistry between the leads, and the mystery plot device keeps the pace rolling throughout. Solid movie, surprised it's tracking at a 6.5/10. It's much better than that.

This is a really good movie, better than it's being rated. McCarthy wrote and directed Spotlight and was a creator on The Loudest Voice in the Room. It's sweet and depressing and everything is done well in it. It's not an action movie and it's slow and long, but it's wonderful.

this is loosely based on the Amanda Knox story, but by changing the names and location they don't have to pay her for it Hollywood at its greedy best......back to the film, its just average TBH. 5 out of 10. its like at least 40 mins too long.

_Stillwater_ was good. Long, but a well-made movie.
I remember hearing about this when it came out, and being from Oklahoma, it was a big deal here; so, I thought it was just a story about an Okie working oil rigs. Nope.

I have always liked Matt Damon’s work, but I watched this partly die to the presence of Camille Cottin, who was excellent in the French Netflix series Call My Agent!

The main characters are complex, with Damon playing a redneck Oklahoma man and his daughter. Allison, played by Abigail Breslin. More
