At first I was a bit skeptical bc Tyler Perry’s Studios has produced dramas without a very strong storyline and character development. But sweep all of that off the table, this movie is something else. It had me hooked and had me teared up. Taraji did a phenomenal job in this movie. Music was complementary to the scenes. This movie makes you think and gives you food for thought. Let it sink in. Well done Tyler Perry! :clap_tone2:

This is by far one of Tyler Perry's best and most important dramas. It is built around an absolutely powerhouse performance from Taraji P. Henson that is truly Oscar worthy. She gives a raw, unforgettable performance as a mother pushed to the absolute edge. You feel every ounce of her desperation and pain. The film moves at a very intense pace, which perfectly captures the character's spiraling crisis. The story is relentless, but that is the point. It powerfully shows how quickly a person's life can unravel when systems fail them. Perry delivers a message that is both heartbreaking and effective. While the movie is tough to watch at times, the solid acting and Henson's phenomenal lead performance make it a must see. This is a thought provoking film that will stick with you long after the credits roll.
