The only version I could find was a 720p dvd rip with compression artifacts and scan lines with a strangely high framerate. It kinda added to the atmosphere. It was better than I expected. The stuff in the bowling alley was random as fuck.

the trailer cheated me into watching this movie, thinking it was something supernatural... well, that fax machine scene is not even in the movie and i'm not even gonna rate this movie disappointment

I've got a different view from most reviewers. Japan in this era made some great horror movies, some great drama and some great satire. This didn't feel like any of them. There are many better ways to spend your time.

Suicide Club is my first experience with Sion Sono and if every film he has directed is an unique as this one then I'm ready to see some more! Anyway Suicide Club starts out with 54 school girls jumping in front of a train which splatters the whole station with blood. After that loads of school children jump off the roof of their school. Yes, this movie doesn't take it easy. We follow these 3 detectives as they try to unravel the mystery behind these suicides. This somehow leads to a scene where a "hacker" who comes close to solving it gets kidnapped and brought to the Suicide Club. The leader Genesis starts singing a dark song while someone is being raped and stabbed to death. He wants to be his generation's Charlie Manson. Anyway, my review is as confusing as the movie was for me. I did enjoy it and when I thought I got the plot, Sion Sono threw me a curve ball and I lost it again. Suicide Club might be due for a rewatch down the line. I enjoyed it and it got me interested in more of Sion Sono's work.

Very artsy film. The movie is a bit confusing, and at times (and on the whole) can seem to not make any sense. However, I feel as if this entire movie is a critique towards the 2001 era youth culture, easily impressionable and fueled in part by the internet which is on the rise in this movie.
