The cinematography is great and dancing all looked fantastic. The score was amazing. The editing and sound design were great. It does a good job of creeping you out. A slow burn until the bat shit crazy third act. I need to see it again to even try and begin to understand what happened but I think I loved it.

I really gotta eat my words on this one. I talked so much shit about how it was gonna be terrible. On and on I went, with reason after reason. "The runtime!" "The color palette!" "The lead actress!" Blah blah blah. Stellar. I was so tense for so much of this thing. Absolutely amazing!!!!

The forgettable younger sister of _Black Swan_. A bland Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton playing type, and one good performance by Mia Goth. The score and the choreography are more than solid, the cinematography is alright. The rest of the film is not even worth talking about: trash.

I'm not sure about this one, the cinematography is great, the score is really good, the dancing is all good but this movie is very long, it does kinda drag and im still not sure what I watched and not sure if I wanna find out.

Not entirely on board with this. The kills are definitely fun and creative, and it has a great climax. It’s pretty well shot, but there are a few times where the camerawork and editing can be awkward. For example, the occasional use of slowmotion, zooms and quick pans makes it look like they’re trying to emulate the style and feel of the ‘70s, which doesn’t fit with the rest of the film (not to mention that the execution isn’t great). Tilda Swinton gives a great performance, everyone else is fine. The problem is that fine isn’t good enough for this film, because most of the characters are underwritten, and combined with the fine performances I didn’t care that much emotionally. The score by Thom Yorke is very good, it has a good sense of atmosphere, but I do feel it dicks around a little too much. It didn’t need to be this long.

I enjoyed this movie. It keeps a lot of distance from the original Suspiria and that's good. I loved the cinematography and all that 70s aesthetics. The score is perfect, but I think the movie loses point on account of some poor acting and a troublesome plot at times.

There are two reasons why I never went to dance school. Firstly, I have the physical dexterity of a cow with two left feet. Secondly, I was put off by the witchery goings on at the dance school in the original movie; not exactly a good advert for movement academia!

But onto the movie itself after my tedius preamble. It isn't perfect; like the original, there is more style over substance. It's overlong by about half an hour too! However, it is very well made, there is imagination to spare, and the film shows more intelligence than many horror movies today. A rewatch might be in order as there is a lot to take in within one sitting. Patience is required, but it will be rewarded.

Truly an interesting witch movie. But this is no Suspiria... I wonder why they even bothered calling it that, aside from the obvious cashing in on the brand... It has a great aesthetic and doesn't drag as much as you would think with its bloated runtime. It's an interesting horror movie, I just wish it weren't saddled with its title.

The Gorgeousness of 70's filmmaking is on full show.
The dance scenes are cut to a perfect Hypnotic rhythm.
It's a long run time, about an hr to build up what's happening in the coven, it's what it needs to be, but those 150mins of senses' bashing go by quickly.

Disappointed by the lack of 'torn apart' gore that had been mentioned in early reviews. There's barely any gore- until the end. and it's nothing particularly special.

Great music, performances, make-up, aesthetics.

Completely absolutely hated this movie. I dont have any idea what was going on half the time. I get they are witches, but beyond that like what the actual fuck is going on here? I'd rather watch grass grow then see this again for any clarification either. And the fact it was so long too. If vomit came in movie form, Suspiria is what I'd find at the bottom of the toilet.

If you watch it expecting a typical modern Hollywood horror movie, you'll be disappointed. This is arthouse horror.
Also, people get mad when a remake is the same as the original and they get mad when it's different from the original. You can't never win.
