The swan song is not only in the elderly figure of Pat, but also in a lost time, in an impoverished city, in a different way of being homosexual: "I wouldn’t even know how to be gay anymore." A partly hallucinatory journey that builds a character better (Udo Kier with a moving brooding look) than the journey he takes. But there are unforgettable moments and there is a bittersweet look at the past.

Saw advance screening in Brooklyn as part of "Rooftop Films" and NewFest LGBTQ Film Festival, with talk back afterwards with the director, crew, and most of the cast (minus Udo). I found this low-budget film, set in the *exciting* backdrop of Sandusky, OH, endearing with excellent acting and cinematography. Udo Kier wins as a geriatric hair dresser escaping from his nursing home to fill an impromptu request from a former client. I enjoyed!
