I can't understand all of the bad reviews about it. I guess most of the people didn't understand the true essence of this film. I loved it!

Michelle Williams nailed it again! She is absolutely amazing in this! She plays Margot a women super insecure woman who is always looking for something not to feel a certain emptiness in her life. She is happily married with Lou played by Seth Rogen who is writting a cooking book just about chicken recipes. Meanwhile she met Daniel played by Luke Kirby and the chemistry between them was instantaneous. But when Margot finds out that Daniel lived right across the street she starts to panic.

Sarah Polley wrote and directed this film so beautifully. She perfectly showed how relationships and love can be complicated without the usual clichès. I think she also wanted to show how a human being can be so dissatisfied with everything literally. What is a happy life? What makes us really feel complete and realized in life? It will make you discuss about all of those things afterwards.
The colours used and the set design were also great.

Take This Waltz is the perfect title for this film, it's a perfect metaphor and almost at the end of the film that is portrayed by a montage so beautifully done! That montage represents everything that Margot needed to be happy all of the things she wanted to feel loved and live again. But "new things get old" you'll understand when you see the film I don't wanna spoil anything. It's very hard to talk about it without spoiling so I'm not going to write anything more about it. Just watch it!

Funny fact about this is, almost that the end of the film I noticed a flag from my country on the porch of the house next to Margot's and Lou's house. It's because this was shooted in Toronto's Portuguese neighbourhood called Little Portugal and I didn't knew that!

I don't think this one got that many bad reviews or I havn't read them. It was a good effort but in my book not perfect. Margot isn't that likeable and the target audience seem to be women. You know, in virtually everything the guy is an asshole/piece of shit/anything when he cheats but here we should applaud her for going after a new guy because she is bored with the old one? And the 3-some scene was really unneeded / destroyed the mood.

Let's hope that Stories We Tell is as awesome as everyone says it is :)!

I saw a few so I had a bit low expectations and I end up loving it.
I didn't like it just because I am a woman and I feel sympathy for Margot. I liked it because I think that situations can happen in real life in women or men. It's not just the guys that are assholes a lot of womens can be a piece of shit too.
About the 3 some scenes at first I thought "wtf" but then I can see what Polley was trying to do. If Margot was bored and unhappy that kind of new experiences made her feel different and alive.
At the end I think Margot got what she deserved, she was precipitated and childish and she prefered to leave the guy that really loved her for the "new" guy. At the end she was the one that ended up unhappy again. She ended up between things again, the thing she was afraid to be all the time.

I didn't mean to imply that only women enjoy the movie but it has a strong female touch. We all know they can be pieces of shit too (:D) but it's still weird that there hasn't really been a different take on it with men. I'm not sure why I only went with a seven, I watched the trailer again and I actually still digg it, maybe it was Sarah's bush and her whole plotline - dunno :D.

Maybe haha Yes, I must agree on that female touch. It would be very interesting to see a film with this kind of theme with a male as the main character. I would like to see that!
