After 3 DEA agents are killed by crime boss Mr. Li (Hong), the DEA reluctantly calls in New York cop and martial arts expert Tyler Wilson (Blanks) and sends him undercover on assignment to Toronto to team up with Canadian vice cop Michael Reeds (Merhi). Wilson and Reeds must infiltrate Li's gang, so enter a martial arts tournament that Mr Li is known to attend to recruit talent.

This was weird... I was pretty sure I had seen Talons of the Eagle before, but when I started it, I soon realized I was wrong... or... Is this movie just so forgettable I actually...well...forgot? Who knows... All I know is that I had fun watching Talons of the Eagle this time around. The action is nice, and the pace is pretty good. The story is like in any of the Merhi produced outings, not really there, and the only actor that can actually deliver a line convincingly is James Hong, BUT...as I said...I had fun. The winner here has to be Vinegar Syndrome, though. Probably the only label that could have gotten me to shell out money for this one...

Okay martial arts action movie with Jalal Merhi and Billy Blanks with decent fights and at least a passable story. Nothing incredible but like Expect No Mercy, it's a fine way to spend 90 minutes. **3.0/5**
