The soundtrack is better than the movie itself.

Hit and miss comedy with decent classic rock appreciation.

If you were a fan of the HBO show you will appreciate this movie. However, that is part of the problem... this movie is really just an extension of that same series. While this may have worked in 25 minute segments on HBO it is a little awkward here. Overall it was worth the time for a true fan, maybe not so much so for anyone else.

It's been awhile since I saw this film, and It still rocks! Jack black you legend! Some great sound tracks.

Def made for young teenage boy demographic. You're better than this Tenacious D!

This still stands as my favorite musical. I cannot get enough of it. It's stupid, simplistic and is just full of dick and fart jokes, but it makes me laugh endlessly. If you're not a fan of either Jack Black or the band, this may grate on the nerves, but if you get down with the D, hop on sassafras and get ready to blast off into the hilarity cosmos!

kind of dumb, kind of funny. Parts of it are the same as the old hbo show, which were really funny back in the day.

Of course that was all back before the sold their souls to Sony. Their studio album sucks compared to the live bootleg recordings (portland one of the best)...

Saw them play live a couple time back in 1999. One of the best shows i have ever seen. great music, great comedy, and great entertainers... Miss those guys!
