Like sex with a prostitute, she's just in it for the money so if something touches you, it's coming from inside yourself and not the performance.

They played the kind of opera I liked (arias are the impressionism of classical music) and that caught me off guard emotionally but the rest of the film was the cliché "immigrant kid from the wrong side of the tracks gets a big break" that the French love to churn out every 6 months. The last one was Haute Couture, where Nathalie Baye played the Michelle Laroque part, Lyna Khoudri played MB14's (Mohammed Belkhir) role, and the milieu the immigrant teen cracks was fashion instead of opera.

I feel so cheap for enjoying the music, and the happy end just made me feel used.
