TERRIFIER 2
HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR
I should think so too because
this movie is
super frickin Awesome
amazing
and is "Art", at it's finest
and a testament to what a
Horror movie should be,
a perfect blend of
Modern and Classic.
This movie is
Brutal,Nasty and Horrific
and I loved every single
depraved moment of it.
It was the gift that
kept on giving.
This was the best time
I've had with a
Horror Movie in a very,very
long time,
It pulled out all the stops
and certainly did not hold back,
every single gruesome scene which
their a lot of i might add
my mouth
was wide open as
I said WTAF that's spectacular.
This is the best and most
Awesome Horror movie of 2022
and puts all others to shame
With ease and then some.
this Superb movie deserves
all the praise and appreciation
in the world.
This has set the bar now for all other
Horror movies and I promise you none
of them will even come close to matching this Outstanding movie.

I have a close friend that absolutely loves the campy, overly gorey, absurd world of 80's horror movies. Many times he's sat me down while staying at his house and invited me to watch "classics" (in his words) such as Chopping Mall, Demons, Demons 2, Sleepaway Camp, Slumber Party Massacre and many others. They are all cut from the same cloth, dripping with synth-filled soundtracks, dated world views and absurd, hyper violent storylines. Like it or not, Terrifier 2 captures the exact essence of these "classics" (again, his words) down to the minute details. Arts mannerisms, the gratuitous violence, the buckets of blood, the awful acting and woeful script, all tentpoles in the genre it's trying to mimic, and it mimics them pitch perfect. If you love these style of movies as much as my friend does, you'll have an absolute blast with this sequel. The gif-worthy expressions of Art and the insanity of some of the scenes are sure to become iconic in the right cult circles, and I can already feel it becoming a classic to many from the tweets already being posted.
Unfortunately, I prefer my horror a little more high brow and a little more straight faced so this did nothing for me, but I appreciated what it was trying to do and how perfectly it executed it. For the right crowd, this is a modern classic in the making, but for me it's a total whiff. Overly long and just not my brand of horror, but that's not saying it's bad. It's just not for me.

More terrifying and a big improvement from the first! An absolute gore fest of brutality. Just like the first it has great comedy, killer style and a whole lot of amazing practical effects. The kill scenes, the set and the costumes look great. There's Halloween costumes and decorations all throughout the movie which makes it the perfect Halloween movie. 2h18min is a lot and I think a lot of it could of been cut but I never felt bored. Watched it in one go.

Art the Clown is just as demented and violent as the first and we get to know him even better he feels more fleshed out. If he wasn't already a horror icon, he sure is now. He even gets a cool and intriguing sidekick which is a nice addition.

It sure has more story than the first and maybe that's why it had to be so long. The protagonist we get is cool and badass but sometimes she gets too much plot armor
(bathroom scene)
. Her story is ok but it's not compelling enough to justify the overlong runtime. I do like the character though.

The supernatural elements thrown in are welcome and add layers to the universe. I just hope they know how to dose it. The bedroom scene was my favorite I think it lives up to THAT scene from the first. Also the intro scene at the laundry place was awesome. I'm absolutely confused about the mid-credit scene, what the hell is happening?!

I wasn't a big fan of the first Terrifier film. With the sequel, however, director Damien Leone has managed to address most of my criticisms. The practical effects, which were already convincing in the predecessor, are still the biggest draw. This time, however, the kills themselves are actually fun, too. The movie is still pretty vicious, but it's directed with a clear sense of humor.

Another thing I noticed were the significantly improved visuals. Obviously, a bit more budget was put into the production this time around. The performances are still mixed, but for the most part, they seem less amateurish than in the first film. And lead actress Lauren LaVera is actually quite good. As for Art the Clown, he works as the iconic killer anyway. On top of that, there's a more coherent story this time around. The quality of the script is debatable, but it's better than nothing.

What I dislike is the unnecessarily long runtime. The film could have easily been half an hour shorter. However, because the kills are entertaining and the ending is satisfying, I was not bored, at least not during the most important parts. So I had a great time throughout and look forward optimistically to the already-announced third part.

Totally above my expectations, I didn't think I would like it, since the first one is shit.

Terrifier 2 has a plot, and a decently written one at that, covering this 2h20m, a fair length in my opinion, with a beautiful setting, gore scenes, funny but at the same time scary/scary gags by Art, an alternate which I really enjoyed (how much I laughed when he was trying on glasses in the costume store).

As for the acting, I liked the main character, she acted well, the mom's performance was the best, otherwise everyone else was decent

I get to 1h45m into the movie and say "Wow but it's really good this Terrifier 2! I didn't think that..." and then comes the ending. My God how much I hated this thing about the magic sword stitching up his wound, how much I hated that the movie ended like this, with the little girl taking Art's head and leaving, with the two main characters hugging each other. What happened to "man without a penis?" And what are the consequences of all that happened? Okay, they want to make a sequel, I get that, but personally I don't like open endings at all. And I also don't like it when in the movies, randomly, some mystical power, coming out of nowhere and only when death is near, saves the day. I would have preferred a more realistic, less mystical ending.

In conclusion, Terrifier 2 I consider it a good movie, beautiful until the last half hour ; maybe I consider it as such because I had very low expectations seeing the first one and thinking that it was just a slasher/gore movie with totally random killings and without a logical reason, I left thinking "OK, I'm going to watch a shitty movie." But no, I spent 2h20m entertained by Art's gags and the horror setting present in the film
