I wasn't a big fan of the first Terrifier film. With the sequel, however, director Damien Leone has managed to address most of my criticisms. The practical effects, which were already convincing in the predecessor, are still the biggest draw. This time, however, the kills themselves are actually fun, too. The movie is still pretty vicious, but it's directed with a clear sense of humor.

Another thing I noticed were the significantly improved visuals. Obviously, a bit more budget was put into the production this time around. The performances are still mixed, but for the most part, they seem less amateurish than in the first film. And lead actress Lauren LaVera is actually quite good. As for Art the Clown, he works as the iconic killer anyway. On top of that, there's a more coherent story this time around. The quality of the script is debatable, but it's better than nothing.

What I dislike is the unnecessarily long runtime. The film could have easily been half an hour shorter. However, because the kills are entertaining and the ending is satisfying, I was not bored, at least not during the most important parts. So I had a great time throughout and look forward optimistically to the already-announced third part.
