This is Disney from my childhood. Hand painted animation, not that CG stuff. It is one of the first movies I ever saw and even after almost 50 years it still makes me smile and laugh. A timeless classic.

A mix between 'Lady and the Tramp' and 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians' - but with cats.

It's a pleasant little film, though it does have minor issues. Mainly with the animation, which is good with most of the cats but pretty average with the humans; I say most of the cats, as Thomas O'Malley looks weird.

Thomas is voiced nicely by Phil Harris, while Eva Gabor comes in to voice Duchess. Those two work well together, as do the trio of Toulouse (Gary Dubin), Marie (Liz English) and Berlioz (Dean Clark). There are a few other decent characters, too.

The plot is perfectly watchable, if predictable. Some of the songs are noteworthy also, especially "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat". 'The Aristocats' is worth a watch.

“Everybody wants to be a cat!” Disney pumps out yet another mediocre animated children’s film with The AristoCats. Derivative of their previous works (especially Lady and the Tramp), the plot follows a pampered cat and her three kittens as they try to make their way back home after being dumped in the countryside by a butler who resents them. The characters are pretty fun, yet stick to the standard Disney stereotypes. And of course, there are several entertaining musical numbers. However, the animation is rather poor and the voice work is unimpressive. It’s also a hard sell to route for a crazy cat lady who’s trying to give her vast fortune to her cats, sacrebleu! The AristoCats has some charming moments, but overall it’s a substandard effort from Disney.

The jazz scene was the best part. Everything else was just ok.
