This is seriously Brad Pitt's best performance of his career. Such an amazing movie!

A fantastic telling of a remarkable story. Both cast and script are excellent. Affleck really comes into his own in this film

Fantastic Western. Dour and pensive. It's a very human story so it's hard to completely hate Afflecks character. Same as it's hard to to completely sympathise with Pitt. That's what I love about it, just how flawed these people are.

Watched this last night, excellent movie with an excellent performance from both Casey Affleck and Brad Pitt. One of my favourite modern westerns.

So Jesse James dies in this movie. Oh, sorry, I guess that's a spoiler alert. My bad. Anyway, this is seriously a great historically set drama. No, don't go into this thinking it's an action movie or something. This is a drama that is focused on a more realistic sense of how nuts Jesse James got late in his life.

My highest love of this film is the cinematography. These shots are just straight up beautiful throughout. They also do a look that's like you have an old fashioned camera lens when they have sequences described by the narrator. It's like you're being taught certain things, and then experiencing the reality just a bit later. This makes me ok with the length of the movie, but I can see some people thinking the movie is too long. Honestly, I'd be fine with it being cut down a bit, but it doesn't really bother me much. Acting is great by everyone too, Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck especially. I'd recommend checking this out for sure.

poor Robert and poor Jesse ,,
Jesse deserved to die really but not in his own house in front of his wife and kids

the movie was great but a little longer than it should be and if they didn't make an old man tell the story it would have been a lot better

I saw about half of this movie, than i turned it off because it was boring as hell. Why some people call this an amazing work of art is beyond me.

This movie felt like, at least, 40 minutes too long. Up until 1h40 something, I struggled to keep focused and it was like the narrator was the only thing getting me by. Only at that point, I felt honestly engaged with the characters and the story.
Although there's some pretty good acting and it's beautifully shot, it's probably not a movie I will be willing to sit through again for almost 3 hours. At least not anytime soon.

What!? A movie starring Brad Pitt with Roger Deakins as cinematographer? And it has Sam Rockwell!? With music by NICK CAVE!? This is one of those glorious movies where you just have to sit back and let the masters work their magic.

To be sure, at 2 1/2 hours this film doesn't fly by, but some things are meant to be savored and not consumed.
