The Fabulous Helen Mirren! I actually saw this live in London, at the Gielgud Theatre, the evening of 28 March 2013. The production was new and there were a few fumbles with the lines, but the performance was wonderful. As each Prime Minister entered the stage there was a gasp of recognition by the British audience. As a Canadian, I was hampered by my ignorance, but audience reaction contributed to the portrait the actor painted by their pleasure or censure or pride. It was a wonderful evening, and I'm still struck by how Helen could convincingly portray an 18 and 80 year old Queen. I loved her encounters with her childhood self. I gave this a 10 (magnificent) out of 10.
