Saw advance screening in NYC with Q&A with Dir. George Nolfi and Producer/Actor Anthony Mackie. Excellent historical drama about the first 2 African American men real estate moguls in the early 60s. To succeed, they had to use clever means to subvert systemic racist policies of Jim Crow and redlining designed to deny African Americans the wealth accumulation of the American Dream. But how long can they chase that elusive dream before the noose of white supremacy tightens around their necks? Samuel Jackson provides comedic levity, Nia Long holds the moral arc and reminders that while the men play for equity, the women are still left out. Will stream on Apple TV+ and theatrical release in December - go see it!

Engaging tale of two men trying to make money despite the unequal laws back then. It really draws me into the story, and I feel for the characters who faced so much injustice. This film is not just an important film for our time, but a thoroughly entertaining film. Caught off guard by the enjoyably light approach to the matter at hand, the film delivers an amazing message of self-empowerment. Regardless of your race, the film teaches us that we don't need to accept things as they are, but rather to work within the system to change and improve our lives and those around us.

This film is absolutely fabulous. I watched Anthony Mackie in Marvel films only. All these years I call him Falcon goes I did not know his real name but today after watching his performance in The Banker film I realised this guy can perform very well. Sadly what happens than is still happening now!

A great movie and for sure underrated as most of people have no idea of this..Mackie and Jackson were just brilliant both in their roles and they leveled up the movie. It's a true story that deserves attention and respect. They both seemed to be very kind, open minded, educated and with their powerfull minds they managed to change the situation which was more than unfair.

7.7/10

This looks like a boring for kids Disney movie. Despite the fact is from Apple, you can only feel the money in cast and the joyful camera. Childish plot, cheap clichés and a predictable ending made it difficult to finish. Everyone's performs a good acting excepting Anthony Mackie, who tries without luck to aproach Green Book pianist. I can't understand how they're historically faithful with things like smoking but not with the strained Nia Long character. I was surprised to find a recent movie from Samuel L Jackson produced by Apple and not having heard about it, now I can guess why. Entirely forgettable.

I did my grading of this movie fairly taking in all the scales between concept, tone, pacing. This movie to me was an 8.9 I enjoyed the lesson learning about 2 men that were a major part of black history. The fact that they were a big push towards the fair lending act is a big bonus, as someone who works in banking I thought this was amazing to see people go from nothing to more than something. The ending of the movie was a sad sight but their story goes on. Samual L Jackson and Anthony Mackie did such a great job. Also loved Nia Longs roll in the movie great to see her in something.

A fascinating and emotive true story, but with its banking themes and drawn out narrative, it wasn't always very interesting to watch. Its not a bad film, but it could have been better told.

Very good, fast paced film that inspires you to instantly research the historical figures depicted after viewing. Excellent performances from the entire cast. This easily could have been expanded to a series.
