Some of the acting is a bit on the ropey side, and the mystery devolves into typical Lovecraft by the final act. There was a small pocket of eco-horror in there that was good and I wish was extrapolated upon, but other than that it was all pretty middling. It's not bad per se, but just a combination of mediocre and Lovecraft is more than enough to make this not my cup of tea. I respect the effort though.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Despite the low reviews scores, it is actually pretty good. The setup is creepy, the body horror is suitably icky, and the narrative holds the attention. Watch it, and let it be another reason why you shouldn't visit the beach in 2020.

Just, don't. The only reason I gave this 2 and not 1; the fact that
some scenes made me gross out.
The acting is terrible, the camerwork is poor and does not sell any emotion or suspense, the soundtrack is pointless and the story? It's like the 'copy my homework but don't make it obvious' except they copied parts from everyone who failed the exam and forgot to make anything fit.

Started off with promise, but wasn't a big fan of the second half. Neither couple seemed like they should be together. I know the younger ones were supposed to be on the mend; but why would she get back with him?

And, Mitch was so concerned about keeping an eye on his wife, and then disappears.

Strange plot....

I’d given up on this film as I was a hour in then the Junji Ito body horror intense gross stuff that physically made my stomach turn started. Also was nice to see a lead that resembled Misty Mundae. That’s never a bad thing. Won me back in the end. Pretty cool flick but I ain’t eating anything today.

Wants to be lovecraft, cosmic horror but fails on all fronts. Soundtrack, visual effects better than subpar. Overall pretty bad

Plays with themes and ideas you've seen before but none of them come together for any truly thrilling moments. The shorter runtime means it's a trim-watch, but the stiff acting by everyone doesn't help elevate the script.

[Filmin] Minimalist horror that draws from diverse sources. There is fog, there are stolen bodies... This indie version of horror cinema follows the lines of other recent titles like "The rental" (Dave Franco, 2020). Few characters and an outside threat. Or perhaps it is more an inner dawn. Close-ups dominate, especially when horror breaks out. Marijuana has never caused such a bad trip.
