Director Daisy Jacobs uses two-metre-high painted characters in full-size sets to tell the stark and darkly humorous tale of caring for an elderly relative. The Bigger Picture is quite simply the most innovative animated short you will see this year.

[SEFF] With an amazing animation technique that is between stop-motion and life-size drawing, this story introduces two different characters, two brothers who face their mother's care in different ways, and who they must finally face death. The result is brilliant, in the execution of an animation with surprising results (it's advisable to see the Making of) but also in a solid narration about family relationships.
