This was a bit of a letdown. Good, but a letdown.

[spoiler] Bram says he's being visited by God and instructed to murder their child. Ok, he's obviously sick and needs immediate help, but the character has deeply held religious views that prevent him from accepting that fact. Save for a single incident during the baby's christening, there's absolutely no reason for us to take this claim seriously, making the entire movie a drama as the characters wrestle with demons that are entirely metaphorical. The focus is on whether Bram will get better or what he'll do if he doesn't. This is... fine. As a drama, it's decent. There isn't a single thing that makes it a horror film, though. It _could_ have been a horror movie if it had given us reason to doubt the most rational interpretation and believe that, yeah, that baby needs to die. [/spoiler]
