I am tired of finding faults in this movie, there are so many of them. Please do not let these scriptwriters write any more scripts.
2 stars for good VFX.
Why did this alien, who waited for 200000 years to give just 3 orders, bungle 1 of them? Why was this advance craft not capable of emitting the 2nd wave more than once? If Ra had the weapons of the rest of the world at his disposal, why did he send foot soldiers to group and attack? He could have just made them throw bombs and missiles and blow 'The Circle of Life' to kingdom come. I mean, he did blow up the outpost towards the end, so why not the rest of it?
Why did Ra even stay on the building when he knew Sasha had seen him there? He could have just walked to another building. Why were all of the zombies/freaks/radio-controlled humanoids/whatever just attacking the building from one direction? There were lots of other roads leading to the building, as is evident from the overhead shots. In the spaceship at the end, why didn't they just shoot the main pipes - you know, the fat ones?
@ispyscifi Nitpicking a script is not the same as a review

Sooo. . . I REALLY liked it. Better than most invasion movies, better than World War Z (if we wach on mass attacks and murders), just enjoyed. And really good soundtrack. Mike Shinodas perfect song made this movie even better.

Special effects were great, but the good points end there. No logic in many discussions, the ending is very disappointing.

The Blackout is like Space Mountain with no line: it's glorious but repetitive, redundant, and the same thing over and over again.

This Russian sci-fi flick about aliens taking over everywhere except a small part of Russia has very good production value. The special effects and cinematography are a lot of fun to look at, but the story quickly overstays its welcome.

Basically, two teams of elite soldiers (and, of course, a girlfriend apiece for each team) have to mow down swaths of Russians possessed by alien thoughts over and over and over again. While I was a big fan of the gore, I could've used a little more in the way of variety.

I was also amused that this takes place in the future, and in the future in Russia one of the elite soldiers talks about how rich his parents are and a news anchor talks about the feedback of the Russian Orthodox Catholic Church. Looks like Russia is due for some changes, unlike this movie.

:wave:The Blackout (2019) is a good science fiction :flag_ru: movie
at the same level as those of .:flag_um: :point_up:Surprising as the director :flag_ru:
Egor Baranov did not make a sequel (saga) unlike
to the other of these achievements (the chronicles of Viy...)
Available online on addon vstream... via wiflix etc..) :heavy_check_mark:

Bruh, that was a whole ass adventure, my god. It's like they took an entire TV series and smooshed it together into 2 hours. Like, I feel like I was watching this for 8 hours, not 2. So much was happening that my head is kinda spinning still 'cause I'm slow to understand stuff.

I kinda regret watching the dubbed version, but I'm doing other stuff so I can't read the subtitles without missing half the movie. The dubbing wasn't bad but it wasn't great, either. The movie itself was pretty fun, though. I think my only complaint is the bright flashing from the guns. It was super prominent and I had to look away because it gave me a feckin' headache.

Shockingly good. Much better than anticipated. The only thing pissing me off about the whole movie was the ending.
Children or not. They are the invaders and they will eventually grow up and they would be like "wait, why is that i don't look like you."
Watch and you'll see what I am talking about and tell me if you aren't equally upset.

Pretty decent movie, action and effects were good although the story seemed a bit off. There also seemed to be quite a sexist view of the female medic & reporter. Which I found both slightly funny but also annoying at the same time. Definitely an interesting plot line and is a different take on these invasion movies, started off strong but seemed to thin out later on.
There were quite a few moments where you sit there questioning things wrong in this movie, like why is the alien betraying the other alien, and the fact that they had been around for so long but only now decided to take over the planet? And my God was the ending wack.

I love cheesy Russian adventure, superhero, spy, and sci-fi movies. So earnest. So proud of being Russian. Respect.
