It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

"They'll never get caught. They're on a mission from God."

Best film to start my birthday with! So quotable, so many great songs, the humor, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd! The many legendary artists, Carrie Fisher, that awesome Blues Brothers suit, which I've worn to many parties, I could go on and on.

This will always be my favorite film.

The music is top-notch, and the script is somewhat inferior but still working. It was obviously designed to break the fourth wall and succeeds magnificently. Great movie overall.

John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd are Jake and Elwood Blues, two blues musicians “on a mission from God,” in the hilarious comedy _The Blues Brothers_. Directed and co-written by John Landis, this popular Saturday Night Live sketch gets turned into a full length film that follows Jake and Elwood as they get their old band back together to raise money to save an orphanage. A virtual musical extravaganza, there are featured cameos from James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Ray Charles; all in fun, energetic musical numbers. Some of the jokes are a little corny, but Belushi and Aykroyd’s charisma is just too irresistible. Wildly entertaining and full of laughs, _The Blues Brothers_ is a classic ‘80s comedy with soul.

How is this rated in the 7s? Not one low point in the entire movie. Not even in the extended version.

I first watched this when I was too young to truly get the most out of it, and loved it to bits. The music, the comedy, the action.

It's low budget, but it has fun. It has some of the most amazing musical talent you will ever experience. The biggest musical scenes. And at the time, the biggest car crash ever put on film.

Every time I watch this movie, I find new levels of love for it. It truly is my favourite movie of all time.

Enjoyed this one. I am late to the party, mainly because I thought I wouldn't enjoy this one. How wrong was I? So funny from start to finish.

Still irreverent, stylish, self-assured and riotously funny after all this time. Belushi and Aykroyd live and breathe the roles of Jake and Elwood, the buttoned-down, stern-faced suits who suddenly explode when the stage lights fire up, characters who seemed instantly destined to transcend the spectacle of their own story. Their plot is, really, embarrassingly simple - regroup the band, put on a big show, save the orphanage - but the strength of the brothers, the ad-lib mastery of their vessels and a staggering wealth of guest appearances mold it into a behemoth that's barely able to squeeze into a comfortable running time.

It may seem random, zany and baffling at times, but it's impossible to look away and eventually everything comes together in a loud, reckless, picture-perfect finale. Viewed in a modern setting, it doubles as a fascinating glimpse at city life in the twilight of the 70s - especially when the boys lead pursuing police on a frenzied high-speed chase through the heart of a bustling shopping mall. Classic stuff.

The script is not very far, but the chases and especially the songs and singers are very good. There are times in the persecutions that you laugh at fast & furious

It doesn't matter when I watch this, with whom or where, I will always smile the whole way through. The car chases, the amazing cameos, the dialogue, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd's chemistry, the music, the different groups chasing the Blues Brothers, the humor, HUT HUT HUT, Carrie Fischer, the way the brothers dance, the final car chase especially all the way up to them delivering the money.

From start to finish I always enjoy every second of John Landis's Blues Brothers. It is by far my favorite film of all time. And everyone I've shown this one, there was nobody that didn't enjoy it. It is truly a classic.
