Not the spoof horror that I expected. This is a far more serious affair though it suffers from too much padding before the monster scenes occur.

Pretty great little monster movie! The creatures are effectively kept offscreen for most of the film, and we spend a lot of time getting to know and connecting with the protagonists, who are very likeable and human.
