A lot can change throughout the years.

I mean, 8 years ago this was once labelled as a comedy, but now it's a documentary.

Starts out really slow, but every moment with Will Ferrell is hilarious. If someone could just cut out all the scenes that don't have Will Ferrell, this would be a 10/10. Also, some great Green Day at the end.

Had a good few belly laughs myself but I'm a fan of those involved.

Not to be taken seriously!

It's a very funny movie, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis (who also starred in the trilogy The Hangover) played very well, some characters with some really funny ideas.
The story is very funny.
But maybe if it had been a little longer, maybe it would have been given a grade of 10, the problem with this movie is that it is short, it only lasts an hour and 21 minutes, and if it had at least 21 minutes it would have been better.
Worth seeing anyway.

The Green Day* song at the end really sums up the juvenile attempt at political satire that you just finished watching. So if you like the kind of tired juvenile satire you'd expect from a Jay Leno monologue and/or you like bad Will Ferrell comedies this is probably right up your alley; if you go in expecting it to rise above that you'll be disappointed. It's your standard Ferrell comedy sprinkled with bad satire, it even has a lazy Trading Places-esque spin on the Koch brothers. But I'm sure that was lost on the target audience of this film. 100% not surprised one of the writers was also responsible for Land of the Lost.

* - I like Green Day. I'm liberal (Canadian liberal, not sure how that translates in America... probably pinko commie). But 90% of the time Billie Joe Armstrong talks or sings about politics it is the level of political understanding you'd expect from a teenager who listens to pop stars for all of their news information.

Another comedy from the 2010's that just doesn't quite hit the mark, but there is a snake scene in a church that had me in tears. Once in a while Will Ferrell can still make me laugh that hard.
